I was looking into fat grafting, then canceled that, suddenly got really interested in Sculptra, did some online research, and went for a consultation at a dermatology clinic in Sinsa-dong. Here, I consulted with the doctor first, not the consultant. The doctor asked what brought me in, and when I said I came because my face had too little volume... as expected, they recommended Sculptra. But since I have a peanut-shaped face, I asked if the temples could be treated too, and they said Sculptra could be injected into the temples as well. But they said the front cheeks + nasolabial folds would be 1 vial, and the temples and side cheeks would be 1 vial, so I would get 2 vials at once, and that it would probably be best to do 3 sessions. Honestly, I thought the usual approach was 1 vial per session for 3 sessions... So I asked if it was okay to get 2 vials at once... and whether it couldn’t be divided up using 1 vial instead... but they said that would be difficult.
And when I said I was worried about nodules as a side effect, they said side effects occur in about 1 out of 2,000 people, that they usually aren’t visible to the naked eye, and are only felt when touched, and that the nodules shrink on their own... that’s what they said. So I asked what they would do if nodules formed. They said they sometimes give dissolving injections, but in most cases they just leave them alone.
The estimated cost came out to 3.3 million won, but I said I’d think about it and left. I had only been thinking of 3 vials, so it was over my budget... But is the effect better if you get 2 vials rather than 1 vial? And with 1 vial, can it not be placed in multiple areas and only exactly 2 areas? I consulted here because it’s a dermatology specialist clinic and the price seemed reasonable, but would it be better to just get 3 vials from a well-known key doctor instead? It seems like more famous places are around 2.2 to 2.4 million won...
