Around this time in March 2019, I had nose surgery. That was the first nose surgery of my life, so I knew nothing about the going rate for rhinoplasty, and like an idiot I got it done cheaply for around 2 million won with an event discount. They used both donated costal cartilage and silicone, and even with VAT it was still far cheaper than other places. Maybe because I was young, the low price was just too, too attractive. I went ahead and got the surgery without thinking twice. The hospital I went to back then had a really youthful interior, the kind younger people would probably like. I remember the director being really old-looking and not fitting the place at all;;; They printed my face on A4 paper and designed my nose on that sheet. Thinking about it now, that method seems incredibly absurd... Because that place was so cheap, I got lured in and had the surgery, and at first I thought it looked pretty. Well, I thought, 'I had surgery,' so of course I must have looked better, and I probably didn't think much of it. But ever since the surgery, my nose has been freezing cold, it bleeds at the slightest thing, and sometimes it aches. It wasn't often painful, maybe once every few months, just a passing pain, so I left it alone and dragged it out until this year. And this year, since I'd saved up some money, I decided to get my nose properly done again. I updated the apps I'd left untouched and searched diligently. But seriously, are these prices for real? Still, I figured it would be better than living with a botched nose, so I booked a consultation and even went ahead with surgery. The place I had surgery at is famous for revision rhinoplasty in the Gangnam area. Honestly, it was a place I kept seeing when I searched, so I figured it was probably just ad hype and went. But when I actually got there, there really were a lot of people. Still, I'd already been badly taken for a ride in the past, so I definitely didn't trust them XXXX Well, like I saw on Naver, they had a CT for autologous costal cartilage, and their Photoshop retouching was good. That much I'd seen a lot in review posts, so I just took it as expected. But when they showed before-and-after case photos, there were quite a few cases???? I had always avoided places where the nose looked copy-pasted the same. Everyone's face is different, so noses being the exact same felt creepy. But here, it seemed like they tailored it differently for each face. So more than the retouching and all that, I think seeing before-and-after photos of people similar to me was more reassuring and better. Isn't that the right approach? Faces are all different, after all. And instead of just throwing around terms like straight line or natural line, they went into details about the starting point between the brows, bridge, tip, columella, the CT results for autologous costal cartilage, and material selection based on daily life?? It was insanely detailed. (For example, if I'm a fitness instructor, they said they'd use two donated costal cartilages and fix them in place. I'd never seen that before.) And when designing the line, unlike other places, they set it in the order of columella > tip > bridge > glabella, starting from the bottom, so it felt like the tip wouldn't droop. It just seemed like the director was really serious about upgrading my nose, unlike other places, so I decided to do it there. Then I heard the price and was like, what the hell???? 7.23 million won. My hands were shaking so badly that spending almost three months of salary all at once made them tremble. Still, thinking that if it could save my messed-up nose I'd spend it no matter what, I swiped the card. It's been about two weeks since the surgery now????? The bruising spread along the side of my nose, so if someone saw me they might think I'd had eye surgery. Still, my nose already looks much more like a human nose, so I feel like it was worth the money. They said they shaved down the hump completely and raised the columella to correct the long nose, and it came out almost exactly like the retouched photo the director made. And apparently if they use autologous costal cartilage here, they give an autologous costal cartilage warranty system, but you have to go to every follow-up appointment. You have to go check whether the tip has dropped Other than that, the rest seems fine. Before, I couldn't understand people who spent 7 to 8 million won, even 10 million won, all at once on a nose, but now that I've been through a botched nose once, I get it. Even if it costs a bit more, I want to go somewhere that gives a definite result Really, to everyone considering nose surgery, I'm not saying a cheap place is bad at all, but if it's cheap, I feel like there's probably a reason. And if it's expensive, there must be a reason for that too... so when you visit clinics, please go to both places that fit your budget and more expensive places, and compare them. That's the secret, if you can call it a secret, behind getting this surgery done this time.
