Uneven-eye correction - review of tertiary revision eye surgery (incisional) (I almost use it every day…

My eye surgery history so far ▶ About 10 years ago, buried-suture double eyelid surgery (inline) -> even though it was buried-suture, it felt like a very clear line formed on my eye, so I didn’t like it. Probably because I had a lot of fat around my eyes ▶ About 6 years ago, partial incision + upper epicanthoplasty (semi-out) + ptosis correction -> I liked pretty eyes! big eyes! when wearing makeup, so I eventually had an incision. After partial incision, removing a little fat, and upper epicanthoplasty, I was very satisfied. Reason I decided on tertiary revision surgery ● 1. The revision surgery gave me semi-out eyes I liked, but as I lived with them, I felt semi-out didn’t suit me that well. If you looked only at the eyes, they were pretty, but they didn’t feel like the best match for my overall face. ● 2. I felt like I had just followed trends. Irene and Shin Se-kyung eyes that were trendy at the time lol ● 3. Maybe the ptosis correction loosened, or maybe my eye shape changed as the baby fat in my face went away, but the front line where the double eyelid started gradually became thicker, so my eyes looked fierceㅜㅜ ● 4. While my eyes were bothering me for reasons 1-3, one side of my double eyelid came undone about 2 years ago.. When the double eyelid came undone, I actually liked it. My eyes looked gentler, and unintentionally it felt like a natural double eyelid ● 5. As I increasingly had occasions where photos were taken, my eyes in photos kept bothering me. In the end, I decided on tertiary revision surgery ㅠㅠ Process up to booking ▶ I was debating whether to do it or not, then one day I suddenly thought I reaaaally wanted to do it and immediately called the clinic. I asked for the earliest date, and they said the next day was available, so I immediately sent the deposit. ▶ For about 3 months I had been researching online and had a plastic surgery clinic in mind, and this was where a director from that clinic had moved to. This doctor was also known for minimal swelling, so I decided without hesitation. Preoperative condition ▶ Only the right side had a semi-out double eyelid, and the left side was completely monolid. ▶ It was day 2 of my period haha... Common sense says I should have avoided that day, but no one could stop my impulse. Of course, I told the clinic before booking. Preoperative consultation ▶ For the fierce-looking impression caused by sagging between my eye and double-eyelid line -> they explained that it was because the starting point of my double eyelid was high compared with my eye. It was similar to the reason I had thought, so we decided to lower the line to an in-out shape. The height of the end point of the double eyelid would be similar, and only the starting point would go inward. I showed them the eyes I wanted and asked them to make it as large as possible within an in-out line. ▶ The consultant and the doctor were very kind. ▶ Unlike the double-eyelid surgery clinics I had been to so far, they checked the eye design three times before surgery. (For reference, my first-surgery clinic was a one-doctor clinic, and the revision clinic was a very large.. major hospital. This clinic was right in the middle size-wise, but they checked the most meticulously ㅠㅠ) After surgery ▶ Because it overlapped with my period, there was indeed a lot of bleeding ㅠㅠ At first my eyes wouldn’t close well because of the blood scabs. When I asked the clinic, they said that since scabs had already formed, if I forced them off the stitches might come out, so they told me to “wait for them to fall off naturally, and afterward, dampen gauze with saline solution and gently remove only the ones that come off.” After the blood scabs fell off, the swelling started going down the fastest ever among all the double-eyelid surgeries I’ve had! I went to work 7 days after double-eyelid surgery, so it couldn’t be completely unnoticeable, but everyone was amazed that the swelling was going down so quickly. Efforts to reduce swelling ▶ This clinic says no medication x no compresses x after surgery. / They didn’t tell me to do anything except walking and eye exercises. But I was anxious because I had to go back to work soon, so for 2 weeks I took Dangguixu San + Newvein, and made sure to walk 10,000 steps every day. ▶ For 7 days, I slept almost sitting up with a triangular back cushion ▶ I reduced spicy and salty food. (I think I ate it once a week) ▶ I did eye exercises re~ally diligently. It’s the exercise where you open your eyes wide! Since the clinic didn’t recommend medicine or compresses but emphasized! eye exercises, I thought they must be really important and went around all day with my eyes opened wide lol (so in all the review photos too, my eyes are opened wide haha..) Satisfaction with the result ▶ I’m extremely satisfied! As you can see in the review photos, when I open my eyes looking straight ahead, the swelling went down really fast. Even now only minor swelling remains, and I really like the line. When I look downward or close my eyes, there is still a clear double-eyelid surgery line, but that is something time will resolve ~ ▶ Now I hope that after lower canthoplasty + fat repositioning when I get older, there will be no more eye surgeries in my life lol
