I had a lot of worries before releasing my buried sutures, and I got a lot of help from this community, so I'm posting this for anyone who might need it.
It had been 1 year and 6 months since my buried-suture double eyelid surgery, and because the line was too high, I had the buried sutures released last week at the hospital where I had the surgery.
Cost was free. Surgery time was 10 minutes? I don't think there is any scarring. There is a tiny incision mark, about 1 mm, where the thread was removed, but I think it will disappear soon. There is no swelling either. I have a constitution that swells very severely, and when I had the buried-suture procedure, my swelling lasted about three times longer than an average person's, so this is surprising. Of course, there is almost no pain either. Occasionally a slight pulling feeling?
The long-awaited result. I'm at one week now, and from the day they released them, the double eyelid line dropped significantly. It hasn't completely released yet, but the slightly remaining line is so pretty and natural that I like it haha Because the line from the buried-suture procedure was high, my goal after releasing it was to have revision surgery with a lower line, but right now it's exactly the line I want, so I'm greedily hoping it won't disappear. But they say that eventually it will all release and return to its original state ㅠ It feels like the line is lowering little by little, very subtly each day.
I debated for 1 year and 6 months over whether or not to release the buried sutures. Every time I visited a plastic surgery clinic, the doctors persuaded me, saying it looks pretty now, why release it, a lower line is impossible, and if I wait just a little longer it will lower.
I do think, why didn't I release it earlier, but I'm happy because the current result is so good haha
