10 years ago, I worked hard looking up information and went around for consultations here and there~ At that time, every doctor said something different; one place recommended incision plus ptosis correction, while another recommended the buried-suture method... After a lot of agonizing, I ended up getting buried-suture double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty.
Thinking back now, I think I looked the prettiest around months 1-2, when there was still a little swelling lol. I often even heard strangers tell me I was pretty lol.
As the swelling gradually went down, it did look completely natural. Even when I closed my eyes, no line showed at all lol. But after about 5-6 years, one eye came undone, so I had revision surgery lol. Then 2-3 years later, the same eye came undone again, so this time I’m thinking about doing it with an incision.
When I read posts about double eyelid surgery, they say it comes undone easily if you have ptosis, so maybe that’s why too... (Is that true?) But when I went back to the first doctor for another consultation and asked, “Should I get ptosis correction?” he said my eyes would probably look scary if I did ptosis correction;;
But looking at people around me, it seems recovery is faster when you do it at a younger age, and the older you get, the longer it takes to settle, so I’m a little worried ㅠ Thinking about it now, I also wonder if I should have just done the incision method back then, even if it looked a bit obvious.... lol
I’m posting this in case it helps even a little for those who are 고민ing about double eyelid surgery.^^
