This is my 3-week review after nose implant removal. When I was thinking about removal, I read every review I could find, so I’m writing this for reference.
My natural nose had very wide nasal alae, and I basically had no nasal bridge between my eyes. There was almost no height difference... My nasal tip was on the higher side, but since I had no glabella bridge, my nose looked really short.
The silicone broke through the skin, so I had to have it removed and couldn’t postpone it. Because it had broken through, they said they couldn’t shape the nose while removing it...
So back then, I was really worried about how the shape would change once it was taken out.
I swell really badly, so right after the splint was removed, my nose looked extremely swollen and bulky, and I was so depressed thinking it might stay that way.
The conclusion about my current shape!
Nasal tip and alae: it looks like the contracture from a surgically altered nose has loosened. It is not spread out like my original nose and is still gathered in. When I asked the director whether it would loosen later, they said it would become slimmer as the swelling goes down, and that people who originally had bulbous noses are sometimes more satisfied after removal.
Nasal tip height: it is slightly lower than my surgical nose and higher than my original nose, so my nostrils show more than with my natural nose. Since I had contracture, they show less than with my surgical nose.
Glabella and nasal bridge: it seems to have gone back to the original, with basically no bridge. But I think some swelling is still there, and maybe because the skin over the bridge became thinner, it still seems higher than my natural nose.
Now that my nasal bridge has disappeared, I honestly feel a sense of loss, and it feels especially big when I take photos rather than when I look in the mirror. But my nasal tip is better than both my surgical nose and my natural nose, so I’m not strongly thinking that I want to get my nose done again. I also find myself thinking my original nose was better than I expected.
Also, when I had the surgery, except for the early period, I didn’t feel a foreign-body sensation, but after removing it, wow, my nose feels so light that I realized my nose had really been heavy. My nose used to be blocked so I could only breathe through one side, but now both sides are open well. When I felt unwell, drank alcohol, bumped into something, or got a pimple on my nose, I worried every time, but that worry is gone!
Oh, and I don’t have contracture or saddle nose at all! I was really scared when I went around for consultations, so I’m relieved... But I’m still taking medication for contracture~
For people worrying about removal, don’t worry too muchㅠㅠ If the shape isn’t pretty after removal, you can do it again, or you can revise it at the same time as removal. It might also turn out fine after removal. Stay strong and go to lots of consultations.
