First of all, my face shape had been a complex since I was young, and I was very stressed because of it. Because I had a lot of empty space on my face, I couldn’t tie my hair up no matter how hot it was, and I always went around covering it. My cheekbones and facial width stood out, so I couldn’t wear baseball caps or beanies, and it was hard to find sunglasses that suited me. I also didn’t like looking in the mirror, so I went around without makeup. Since photos of me usually came out so badly, I had stopped taking photos continuously since my teens. I had never thought that I disliked other parts of my facial features, but I had a lot of dissatisfaction with my face shape, and there was even a time when my mom took the initiative and suggested facial contouring surgery first. Then the reason I decided on surgery was that after going through one major incident, I thought, since I’m going to die anyway, I might as well live without my complex, take as many photos as I want, dress up the way I want, and live, so I immediately booked consultations. My criteria for hospitals were: a place specializing in facial contouring surgery, a private clinic, and a place that produces natural results. I went to consultations at a total of three places, and I chose this place because they examined me the most thoroughly in a way that made me trust them the most. When you arrive at the hospital, you first have a brief consultation with the consultant, then take a CT scan. After waiting briefly, you meet the director. The director looked tired because he was post-surgery, but he even drew on the screen while explaining that because my bones were thick and I had a lot of facial muscle, the effect after surgery would be significant. He recommended 2 types of surgery, cheekbone reduction and square jaw surgery, and said the anterior chin was optional. If I did the anterior chin, he recommended moving it backward while correcting asymmetry because it is currently slightly asymmetric. I said that my philtrum is on the shorter side and that I also wanted to reduce the length, and he said the current proportions are balanced, so not by a lot, but it could be reduced a little. After the consultation with the director, I had another consultation with the consultant again. At that time, I had decided to have surgery here, but I had appointments at two other places the next day, so I contacted them after all the schedules were finished. When I contacted them the next day and said I wanted to hear more explanation about the surgery, they immediately made a consultation appointment and explained kindly. And cheekbone reduction, mandibular angle resection + cortical bone resection + masseter muscle resection, chin setback + T osteotomy I decided to do it like this.
