I had orthodontic treatment as an adult, and although they said it would take 2 years like it usually does for most people, in the end, I wore the appliances for a total of 4 years before getting them removed. Before that, it wasn’t that my teeth were crooked or anything, but I was always diagnosed with malocclusion due to a deep bite. I got orthodontic treatment because I wanted to get rid of the impression of having a protruding mouth. But once everything was finished, the change in my face shape was severe. After the appliances were removed, my face had become very peanut-shaped. My cheeks were quite sunken.. If you’re planning to get orthodontic treatment, I think you should seriously consider this part too.
