Had surgery at the end of December last year 2. Original eyes: very fleshy eyelids, small eyes 3. Surgery details: only had double-eyelid surgery with an incisional method. (No ptosis correction, lower canthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, etc. at all), price was 2.9 million KRW 4. Clinic details: a single-doctor clinic in Apgujeong. Specializes in revision surgery. I heard they operate on two people a day..? Or maybe one. No student exam-taker discount event, and the price is on the expensive side. First consultation fee is free. I went to consultations at two places. First of all, I only tried single-doctor clinics, and I didn’t go to places offering student exam-taker discounts from the start because a ghost doctor might perform the procedure. Even if I had gone, I was planning to proceed with a doctor who did “not” offer a student exam-taker discount. First, I wanted glamorous eyes like influencers, but my eyes had a lot of eyelid flesh and weren’t that big to begin with ㅠㅠ The first clinic recommended a forehead lift. 1- That’s how difficult it was to expect big eyes like influencers with my eyes 2- They recommended.. a surgery usually done by people in their 40s or 50s to a 20-year-old 3- Even now, when I open my eyes wide, I get dry eyes, so I thought surgery would make that inevitable, and I didn’t go there As expected, at the second clinic: 1- The previous clinic recommended a forehead lift -> Are you crazy? You’re twenty. Absolutely do not get a forehead lift 2- Then what should I doㅠㅠ?? -> It can’t be done the way you want If we make the line the way you want, you’ll definitely get sausage-like eyes, and it’ll look strange 3- Please do lateral canthoplasty too -> Do you want to look like a plastic-surgery monster? I remember the consultation going like this.. lol When they actually made the line for me, it was so low that after the consultation, at home, I said I would absolutely not do it at the second clinic lol I said let’s look elsewhere.. lol I was sad for quite a while, thinking it would probably turn out mediocre anyway ㅠㅠ But in the end, 1. Natural is definitely better than messing it up and living with sausage-like eyes 2. A doctor who says something can’t be done actually feels more trustworthy 3. Someone I know had revision surgery here and it turned out so well For these three reasons, I ended up doing it at the second clinic The result: I’m extremely satisfied. I don’t know if they intentionally spoke harshly, but after surgery, my eyes became ones I’m so, so satisfied with, unlike the eyes I had worried about before (“it’ll probably be mediocre anywayㅠㅠ”)!!! Exactly the eyes and line I wanted~!! I remember the doctor, who had been scary during the consultation, looking at my eyes right after surgery, smiling brightly and saying it turned out so well ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’m actually very satisfied too, and maybe because the doctor pursues a natural look, literally no one knows I had surgery. (You might think, “Isn’t it bad if you pay for surgery and it doesn’t look like you had it?” But if you pay and become “prettier” without it looking like surgery, that’s definitely a good thing.) The surgical scars don’t show at all either! Even a guy I worked with part-time suddenly said while we were eating that my eyes were so pretty and told me absolutely, absolutely not to get surgery ㅋㅋㅋㅋ After starting university too, friends and even people I meet for the first time often tell me my eyes are so pretty~!! Hearing that I’m pretty so often has really boosted my self-esteem overall They say that if a doctor is good, double-eyelid surgery swelling goes down in two weeks, and if it lasts more than two weeks, it means the surgical skill is lacking. I really felt that statement. After double-eyelid surgery, I thought I wouldn’t be able to go out anywhere for at least a month ㅠㅠ, but the major swelling went down in one week, so I started going out after just one weekㅋㅋㅋ~!~! By around two weeks, almost all the swelling was gone, and you might worry that if it keeps going down from there, the line will disappear, but it has stayed fixed at exactly about that two-week swelling level, in the line I wanted, even now, one year later~! What I ultimately want to say is that you should always approach plastic surgery conservatively I think if I went back in time and did it at a factory-style clinic that said, “You want glamorous eyes? Just pay~ We’ll do whatever you want~,” it definitely would have failed. Even if I went back, I think I would absolutely do it here. Even now, about a year later, I’m so, so satisfied I was someone who shouted, “It’ll probably be mediocre anyway, so make the line big no matter what!!” But after actually having surgery, the exact line I wanted came out Of course, my line is low now, and it’s almost closer to an inline crease than an in-out line, but my eyes themselves became prettier, and I’m very satisfied with how they harmonize with my face. If the line on my eyes were made any bigger, it would look so, so strange ㅠㅠ If they say you need all kinds of excessive surgeries, filter them out, and I think places that clearly tell you what is and isn’t possible are more trustworthy. Please search online and visit clinics in person a lot ㅠㅠ Just because they offer it cheaply doesn’t mean it’s automatically good. If you’re getting surgery anyway, you should do it just once!
