I’ll write about my experience with ear cartilage nasal tip surgery I’m going to write whatever comes to mind, and I plan to use a casual abbreviated style, so please understand in advance In 2022, I was concerned about my round, wide nose, so after doing a lot of research, I went for a surgical consultation At that time, I didn’t know about communities or apps, so whenever I saw a good result post on a Naver cafe, I sent messages asking for information and searched for about a year Actually, I only wanted alar reduction, so I went for a consultation, but I was very young then haha and didn’t really have my own firm opinion, so I decided to only do the nasal tip surgery that the director recommended (the consultation with the director was neither especially kind nor unfriendly) The consultant was kind during the pre-surgery consultation, but after surgery, when the splint was removed and I could see nostril asymmetry, I asked about it and she got irritated, which was absurd. I wasn’t being difficult, just simply asking ^_ I vaguely remember being hurt because I was young If I received that kind of unreasonable irritation now, I think I would have been furious Anyway, I went in wanting alar reduction and ended up having nasal tip surgery with ear cartilage, but looking back now, I think it was good that I didn’t do alar reduction But I originally had slight nostril asymmetry, and because I’m pretty laid-back, before surgery I didn’t know there was asymmetry I think once the nasal tip was raised, the existing asymmetry became more noticeable The raised nasal tip is a bit higher on the left, and the nostril is also bigger (I think the bigger nostril was originally like that) When the cartilage was harvested and placed, I think the left side was operated on slightly higher When I touch the nasal tip, the feeling/tightness is a bit different Anyway, although there is some emphasis of slightly uneven nostrils, I like the line when viewed from the side (I do regret wondering whether it would have been better to have correction for my small nasolabial angle at the same time, but I think it’s my fault for not looking into it in detail) The scar behind the ear where cartilage was harvested is almost invisible However, maybe because a lot of cartilage was removed, there is a slight crease in an inner part of the ear where there shouldn’t be a fold, and compared with my original ear, it became thinner and easier to bend? soft and flexible It’s something I didn’t consider at first, so I’m disappointed that there was a slight change in my ear shape (because I’m laid-back, it doesn’t bother me that much) The columella scar is in its 4th year, and it can be seen from below But it’s not a major source of stress Even though I took diligent care of the wound, the scar is clearly visible The red scar lasted longer than I expected, and now only the incision line is visible It can’t be seen from the front, so it’s okay I’d appreciate it if you could tell me in the comments whether some kind of laser treatment can improve this scar I’m grateful just that I don’t have any side effects But since you never know what can happen, if a problem ever occurs, I’ll remove it and only do alar reduction for the large nostril (I like symmetry) This post is written rather ramblingly, but since it may serve as an indirect experience for someone, I’m sharing the information This has been my experience with ear cartilage nasal tip surgery! Thank you for reading this casual abbreviated-style post, bowing politely
