It’s already been two months since I got Hiko. I had it done at a clinic-type place, not a plastic surgery clinic, and I think anyone considering it should be a bit careful. ㅜ.. I heard that later, if you end up getting nose surgery, traces from having had Hiko can remain, so it can make things a bit difficult.
*What is Hiko? A procedure where threads are inserted into the nose to hold the nasal bridge taut? You can see an effect of the nasal bridge becoming higher. Filler goes in > threads go in, and then it’s done.
1. Effect
In my case, I have a small, low bulbous nose.. Once the nasal bridge went down.. I honestly couldn’t tell how it was different from regular filler... I got filler (not sure how many cc)+thin threads+alar reduction injections. The nasal bridge and alar area... really go down quickly... The alar area felt like it went down within 2 weeks... It gradually gets wider.. Still, the nose right after getting it done is really dramatic. The nasal bridge is lifted so much that you wonder if it’s really your nose lol Since it’ll go down anyway, ask them to make it high ㅠ.
2. Limitations
Because it’s just a procedure, not surgery, it can’t change the nose shape itself. It’s not like it becomes slim and long the way it does after surgery... It just gets higher with filler and the nasal bridge lifts slightly with Hiko..
3. During the procedure
It hurts... It hurts. When they put in the filler, I was like, okay, fine.. But around the alar area and nasal bridge, it really hurts a lot... Still, it’s bearable. For reference, because they do filler > thread insertion, you get a ton of injections.ㅜㅜ.
4. Cost
There will be differences by hospital, but mine was 300,000 won including VAT...ㅎ... The cost changes a bit depending on whether you get thin threads or thick threads. There was also something like Babiko? They say thicker threads last a bit longer.
5. Swelling and aftercare
Swelling for about 1-2 weeks... The swelling is kind of beyond words, and the nose gets huge, seriously. Plus, there may be individual differences, but I also had a big bruise..ㅠㅠ I went around covering it with a bandage...ㅜㅜ. Even though I diligently used bruise ointment and antibiotics, the bruise only started disappearing close to 3 weeks later..
+ Hiko apparently doesn’t just lift the nasal bridge, but also holds the bridge of the nose with threads, making the duration longer!
+ Personally, it definitely lasts longer than regular filler. I also think it spreads less.
+ But if you’re planning nose surgery, please choose carefully ㅜㅜ Like 1
