My eyes were originally typical Mongoloid eyes Small, with a lot of fat, horizontally short, and eyes with an extremely wide distance between them The clinic was in Ilsan, but I was so young that I had my first surgery at a clinic I went to holding my mom's hand, like going to a pediatrics clinic. I just knew nothing lol
At first, I had full-incision double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty + fat removal Back then, no one who met me for the first time could tell I had surgery. The swelling had gone down completely, and even though it was full-incision, the scar was barely visible. But honestly, part of the reason was that the doctor had been too conservative with the surgery. The line was low, and the epicanthoplasty was so slight it was almost like scissors just brushed past the Mongolian fold. It did look better than before, but the change was too small.
I had revision surgery a year later. The reason was that the line came undone. After a year, the ends of the line all loosened. My eyes had so much flesh, and maybe because I was young at the time, my recovery ability was just too good... The revision surgery was done free of charge. During that incision surgery, they also did more epicanthoplasty and fat removal.
But after having incision surgery twice, a scar definitely remains along the double eyelid line. I have no epicanthoplasty scar at all, but the double eyelid line scar is still there It's not severe, and it's at a level where there is no issue if I wear makeup, but it is definitely noticeable when I have a bare face. It also isn't as perfectly natural as before.
The part that still stresses me out the most is the scar mark on the double eyelid line. Among those, especially the scar at the inner front of the eye looking prominent At the clinic where I had my eye surgery, I also got filler and Botox a few times, and recently when I brought up the scar, the doctor said that if I did a little more epicanthoplasty, the scar in that area would be less visible, and that they would just do it for me. They said it would still be okay to open it a little more... So I'm considering it. I'm also looking into double eyelid scar removal. Still, I don't regret having the surgery itself. My original eyes were so ugly.
People say double eyelid surgery is a light procedure, but once you touch it, even 10 years later there are parts that bother you, and I often think about what it would be like to do it one more time. Honestly, I want surgery on other areas too, but this is exactly why I hesitate to readily touch anything Spending my own money, going through emotional distress, worrying constantly, and still having parts I don't like left over so that I have to care about them for life or eventually get surgery again.. Of course it would be nice if the surgery came out perfectly to my liking in one go from the start, but there are clearly many cases where that doesn't happen.
