This is my review about one month after having fixation pin removal surgery at The Standard of Contouring on December 31, 2024. For my first surgery, I had facial contouring surgery in Busan with two procedures: zygoma and square jaw. I had planned to have the fixation pin removal surgery at the same hospital where I had the surgery, but after the surgery, I developed abnormal sensation on the right side of my face, so I became hesitant to have surgery at that hospital again. So this time, I decided to have surgery at a hospital in Seoul specializing in facial contouring. During consultations, my main focus was safely removing the fixation pins without worsening the decreased facial sensation, so I went up to Seoul and received consultations at several facial contouring specialty hospitals. The consultation at The Standard of Contouring proceeded in the order of CT scan, counseling with the consultant, and consultation with the director. There were no additional costs for the CT scan or consultation, and the surgery cost was the same as the price I saw on the app. The director’s consultation style was very straightforward about what was possible and what could have side effects, and that actually felt a bit like confidence, so I ultimately decided to have the surgery there. After the surgery, they took a CT scan right away and immediately confirmed for me that the fixation pins had been safely removed. Originally, I had planned to stay in Seoul for about a week, but my post-op condition was better than expected, so I was able to return home to Busan after about 3 days. When I had the two facial contouring procedures, I remember having quite a hard time until recovery, but even during weeks 1 and 2, the swelling wasn’t very severe, and by around week 3, most of the swelling had gone down. Now that one month has passed, I’ve been able to return completely to daily life. As for the facial sensation I was most worried about, perhaps because the uncomfortable issue was resolved, I even feel like the sensation is better than before surgery, so I’m very satisfied with the surgical result.
