This isn’t a review I’m writing to brag. I’ll just write it as it is. First of all, I developed capsular contracture 7 years after my first breast surgery. At first I was completely devastated.. because when I had surgery, I was clearly told that contracture would happen within 1 year, and no one anywhere said it could happen after 7 years. What went wrong? Was it my fault? Did I not manage it properly? I had those thoughts too, and I searched a ton online for information, but they said there was no cause. Just an immune response? A foreign-body reaction the body feels.. It really differs from person to person. There are many case-by-case situations. Honestly, after going through contracture this time, I came to hate the phrase “case by case” so much.. but there’s no other word to explain it. Fortunately, the hospital where I had my surgery said they would do one revision surgery for free. So I only paid the anesthesia fee and had the surgery. Up to that point, it was okay. It wasn’t financially burdensome, and lying down again, going under general anesthesia, having surgery, and recovering were so stressful and hard, but I still thought, if it’s only this much, I’m lucky. Since I can’t give up on having breasts, I went into surgery with the mindset that I should get through it. At first, I became anxious for no reason.. the thought that contracture might come again slowly crept in, and my personality became very sensitive. And when I finally heard the opinion that I had contracture again after just 1 year!......... I was so mentally crushed that I don’t even want to imagine it. I completely fell apart. Now, after-sales care wasn’t available anymore, I had to pay out of pocket for surgery, the shape was stranger than when I first got contracture after 7 years, and the feel was strange too. I had already been on the operating table twice, and my scars still hadn’t fully disappeared, but I had to be cut open again^^ Thinking that I would have to open my breasts about three times made me so confused, and on the other hand I thought, what if I have another revision and contracture comes again? I really went through so much emotional distress, and there was nowhere to talk about it. It wasn’t something to be proud of, and it wasn’t something to receive sympathy for either. Even if I talked about it, would anyone really worry about me?? It was obvious the conversation would start with, “You had breast surgery..?” and then go to, “See~ why did you get plastic surgery~” So I think I just suffered inside and looked for hospitals by myself. Still, the funny thing is I couldn’t give up on breasts. Seeing people who removed them and felt at peace honestly made me envious, and I wondered if I should try that too, but I didn’t have the courage. So I had my third surgery. This time I looked into a specialized hospital and had it done at ㄱㄹ Surgery. Of course I paid the surgical fee this time, but they also guarantee one lifetime after-sales revision. The director is also a breast surgery doctor. I’ve continued communicating with the consultant after surgery too, and she is such a good person. I’m satisfied because the shape also seems the prettiest my breasts have ever looked. The scars are my biggest worry and stress.. But I’m going to think positively that if I work hard to care for them again and keep up with hospital care, they’ll improve!! Because other than that, there’s nothing I can do right now. Thinking negatively won’t change reality either. I’m going to be satisfied with the current result, and think that things will get even better from now on and only good things will happen. So for everyone who is about to have revision surgery or is looking into it, if possible, once a certain time comes, I really hope you wash away all the negative thoughts and think positively. That’s how the body recovers. I lost a lot of weight and my stamina got worse too.. but once I started taking care of my mental health, I improved a lot. Having revision surgery doesn’t mean you’re going to die, and if you meet a good hospital, everything will get better. I hope everyone stays strong and gets through revision surgery well. I’ll come back sometimes to leave updates! Wishing sincerely that everyone who had surgery will be happy, satisfied, and joyful. End of review.
