I had it done at a clinic in Apgujeong that was said to be famous. At the time, I had just turned 20, so I didn’t know anything and hadn’t even been thinking about rhinoplasty, but an older female cousin persuaded me, saying that once I entered university, everyone except me would have had plastic surgery, and I fell for it and ended up doing it. I had consultations at a total of 4 places, and 3 of them said they thought I didn’t need to get my nose done. I have monolids, and instead everyone recommended my eyes, saying my eyes would turn out amazing if I did them. They said my nose was already pretty enough. And the remaining one place said I would become prettier if I did it, so in the end I had only my nose done there.

After my nose surgery, my own older brother still doesn’t know I had rhinoplasty. None of my elementary, middle, or high school friends know I had surgery, and none of my family members know except my parents and that older female cousin.
Well, my nose probably did get a tiny bit higher. It wasn’t even a noticeable change, but because of the fact that I had surgery, I was afraid that if I told others, they’d think, “How ugly was her old nose for the one she got done now to look like this?” So I lived saying I hadn’t done it ㅠㅠ On top of that, whenever I got a massage or skin care, I always warned the people doing the treatment because I was afraid something would happen to my nose, and in daily life I couldn’t even touch my nose properly and had to live being extremely careful, which was so inconvenient.
For people who are sensitive, I really, really do not recommend nose surgery. I had no side effects at all, but I lived terrified of side effects that might come someday, and I felt like I was lying to people around me by saying I hadn’t had surgery, so my confidence went down. In the end, I recently had surgery to remove the nasal silicone, and I’ll write about that on another board.
For those planning to get nose surgery, please really look into the side effects carefully before going! And if you’re sensitive like me, please think about it once more!
