I’m currently a little over one month post-op, and right after surgery I had a deeply sunken area around my cheek. I was shocked when I saw it, but the director said it was muscle and that it would come back with time, so I said okay for now. But it’s been a little over a month and I can still see that it’s sunken. It’s not as deep as it was in the very early stage, but I can see it just by looking, and when light reflects on it, it looks like, “Huh? It’s a little sunken?” For now, I’m going to watch the progress until 3 months and 6 months, and after that I’ll go to a dermatology clinic and look for a way to treat it.
And the important double jaw surgery! Maybe because I had Class II malocclusion, it is more difficult than Class III, but I still thought it would come out reasonably well. But while I wouldn’t say it’s completely ruined, the mandibular asymmetry is not only the same as before surgery, it feels like it has rotated a little more. Fortunately, when I meet people outside, they don’t seem to notice the asymmetry much, but every time I look in the mirror, it feels like my jaw is rotated, and the left-right asymmetry bothers me so much. The hospital says that if there are parts I’m dissatisfied with, revision surgery is possible later, but I feel miserable and depressed, wondering why nothing ever just goes well in one try.. That said, I don’t look worse than before surgery. It’s just that my left cheek is a little sunken and some asymmetry remains, but it’s true that my overall facial appearance has improved. I admit that.

(Not a lot, just really slightly, like it rotated a bit more than before surgery) 3. For now, I’m planning to observe the progress until 3 to 6 months. After that, if the depressed mark doesn’t improve, I’ll go to dermatology. (fat grafting or collagen booster combination treatment) 4. After 6 months, the bone and soft tissue will have attached to some extent, so around that time I plan to go around to hospitals to look into revision surgery. 5. Considering nerve recovery, final recovery takes 1 year, but appearance changes for 6 months. If I wait until the full 1 year before looking for hospitals, there may also be a possibility of needing additional orthodontic treatment, so I want to shorten the time as much as possible. I’m planning to start visiting hospitals in advance from the 6-month mark, and if orthodontic treatment is needed, start it quickly.
