Review of Consultations for First Double Eyelid Surgery in Sinsa/Gangnam, Part 1 (ㅎㄴ/ㄴㅅㅎ)

This would be my first surgery, and I’m a bit older. I originally had a double eyelid on the left side, but it didn’t really form well on the right, so I used to wear double eyelid tape. Because of that, my eyes are quite uneven, but I lived without thinking much about it until suddenly I wondered how long I was going to keep doing this, so I rushed into online and in-person research. Since I’m at my age, I didn’t want anything excessive, so I first narrowed it down to places famous for eyes and known for doing natural-looking results. Maybe because I did a decent amount of online research, there wasn’t anywhere that felt absolutely not right by my standards. I think I ended up looking at the price, aftercare, and the doctor’s aesthetic sense and vibe/personality. At all of them, the consultation order was consultant - doctor - consultant. I wanted natural adhesion, and because I felt like I was opening my eyes with my forehead since I don’t have a double eyelid on one side, I was also considering ptosis correction if needed. 1. ㅎㄴ (single-doctor clinic, ㅊㅈㅎ) The first clinic I went to for a consultation. Maybe because it snowed a lot, the wait got pretty long. I waited about 30 minutes. - Consultant: She showed a lot of confidence in the doctor and emphasized that she had her own eyes done by the doctor too. I was going to judge the doctor myself, but she emphasized it so much that I thought it was a bit excessive. - Doctor consultation: He was very cheerful, and said that because it had snowed a lot, the surgery schedule had gotten a bit delayed. He apologized for making me wait so long, so I thought he had good manners. He said my eyes would look heavy if the line on my face became even slightly excessive, and he made lines of various thicknesses for me. The review photos all looked pretty, but I didn’t feel like the line he made was exactly “this is it.” Taking into account that it was my first consultation and I didn’t really have a feel for it yet. - It wasn’t exactly ptosis correction, but he used a somewhat vague term like natural adhesion + non-incisional line reinforcement, so I was a bit confused. I think it’s a marketing term. - Cost: 1.348 million KRW including various events/discounts (partial public photo disclosure, etc.) - Aftercare: swelling laser at every visit - A/S: free for 1 year / 50% for 2 years / at initial cost for 3 years - Anesthesia: sedation + local - Same-day reservation discount available, but no pressure. Reservation deposit is 100% refundable. 2. ㄴㅅㅎ (Director ㄱㄷㅎ) I booked the first time slot, so I went in right away without waiting. - Consultant: Very average and smooth. She didn’t strongly promote anything, just asked what kind of line I wanted, wrote down about that much, and left. - Doctor consultation: Just as the reviews say, he was very blunt and chic. Still, he looked at my eye angles and face from different directions while making the line. And he very coolly said that I could just do buried suture, that the side without a double eyelid could be done with buried suture, and because the eye shape itself is different, making it exactly the same as the left eye is something he cannot do. He said my eyes absolutely do not need ptosis correction. He said I should just follow the line I already have. The consultation ended very quickly. 5 minutes? - Cost: event price 540,000 KRW - A/S: 3 years - Anesthesia: sedation + local - Other aftercare: none - Reservation deposit: there is a provisional deposit of 50,000 KRW without setting a surgery date, and a reservation deposit of 100,000 KRW when setting a surgery date, but I just put down 50,000 KRW for now. 100% refundable. - The doctor is cool, and I do think it probably wouldn’t fail even if I did it there, but my heart didn’t exactly go for it. Maybe because he was too cool… hahaha Still, the price advantage is considerable. Places I went to for consultations afterward: Sinsa ㅈㅇㅌ, 2 doctors / ㅇㅇㅍ I was going to write everything, but it got too long, so I’ll split it up.
