I was in a transitional period where wrinkles were forming, my jawline was sagging, and nasolabial folds were starting to become deeply etched. If it had been aging that had progressed a lot more, maybe I could have just given up. But seeing people around me who are 70 still wanting to hide their deeply etched wrinkles and feeling embarrassed about areas they had not managed, I came to think of aging as a problem that needs to be solved. I am tall and have a large build, so I thought that no matter what effort I made, looking youthful would be far from me. But this time, after having a forehead lift and facelift, seeing people think I look about 10 years younger made me feel that I was really glad I had the facelift. On the day heavy wet snow almost broke tree branches, my two eyes were swollen shut from the forehead lift, so I couldn’t go outside, and with almost my entire head incised except for the area below the jaw, I looked not just terrible but miserable, even wearing a blood drain, and I endured a week looking truly hard to look at. I thought everything would be done once the stitches were removed and the blood drain came out, but then some areas swelled severely and bruised, and I spent a very anxious month wondering whether I could ever find my original appearance again. On the day of surgery, I also started orthodontic treatment, so my lips swelled and bled, and I couldn’t eat, so I kept losing weight. Still, I wanted to exercise so badly that I waited exactly one month, put on heavy makeup, and went to the table tennis club. People thought I looked different because I had lost weight and had no idea at all that I had surgery. They thought my face had become slimmer because I lost weight from the orthodontic treatment. And then they said I looked younger, came rushing over, and said I had become prettier. Even at this age, I can become prettier~ Truly, time can only tilt downward, but now I am taking part in it, enjoying it, savoring it, and moving forward with a happy heart. Now it feels like depressing, sad, and difficult things will never come to me again. I’m filled only with good feelings and good thoughts. I thank Director Kang Chang-min of Ubom Plastic Surgery and the staff.
