Last week, I had three surgeries: chin tip, square jaw, and cheekbones.
Maybe because I was nervous the day before surgery, I barely slept before going, and after arriving at the hospital, I got tired from waiting, so my nerves eased a bit. Then I went over the surgical precautions, filled out the consent forms, and went straight into surgery.
I have a needle phobia. Even just seeing a needle makes my body shake or stiffen up. Even with general anesthesia, you still have to get an injection in the end, so I was nervous, but when the needle went in it just stung, and I fell asleep like that.
Everyone says that when the anesthesia wears off, you get a nosebleed, a sore throat, or bloody phlegm, but I didn’t have any of that. My throat was just a little scratchy. Rather than the scratchy throat, the throbbing I felt around my jaw was harder to endure. I got painkillers twice and calmed down, but when I was hospitalized, aside from constantly wanting to go to the bathroom because of the IV, it was actually the most comfortable time.
When I was at the hospital, the nurses continuously took full care of me, but after discharge, it was like the war began.
Facial tightness from the compression bandage, swelling, itchy scalp, throbbing jaw, and so on... even toothache along with it...
On top of that, I had to eat, but my lips got so swollen they felt like they were about to burst lol Eating anything itself was painful, and the mouthwash was so disgusting.
I never get colds, but I don’t know if I caught one while hospitalized; every time I took the antibiotics prescribed by the hospital, I had fever symptoms.
From day 3 until today, day 5, it has just been painful. On days 3 and 4, my face kept swelling severely and my lips got really puffed up, so I kept drooling, my lips were dry... and it hurt.
On day 5, maybe my lips have swollen to their limit, because they’re not swelling more, but they’re tight and a little blood has pooled ㅜㅜ I wonder if it’ll bruise...
On day 5, all I can think is... how much more will I swell tomorrow...
