Last summer I had a large 3 cm surgical scar removed. It was a surgical scar I got when I was young, and because it was already large and had widened as I grew, I had surgery to cut out the scarred skin and stitch it closed again. I didn't look into it properly and just searched around before going on a whim to a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam. The manager and the consultation manager for reservations and such were a bit disappointing. I didn't get the feeling they were especially kind or systematic.
The recovery period is different for everyone, but for me it took about six months. Don't do it in summer. It was hard because I couldn't wash the surgical areaㅠㅠ At the very least, for a week after surgery I couldn't really live normally. I had to keep the area dry, so I couldn't even wash and had to stay wrapped in bandages..
People around me say the results have improved a lot, but honestly I'm still somewhat dissatisfied. The scar is still visible because the skin is still indented.. It's only gotten narrower.. Suture scar revision surgery does require aftercare, but I think you also need to look into the hospital a lot. Whether they specialize in your type of scar.. whether they have a lot of experience..
