Nose Surgery Reviews

List of clinics for a hooked nose without implants + consultation review

First of all, this is my first nose surgery.. I’ve never had anything done to my nose, not even fillers!! My nose has a hooked shape + a crooked nose (the nostrils are pretty different in size to begin with) + a slight hump + a bulbous nose + a long nose too. The bridge height is already somewhat there. So I want to do it without implants... I absolutely do not want to use rib cartilage. I don’t have any desire to make the bridge higher either, and if my bridge were any higher on my face I think my impression would look too strong. Honestly, my nose is not completely ugly, and I do get a fair amount of compliments about my overall face, but people with noses like mine will know... when taking photos... lol... there’s really no answer. The hooked tip is especially bad when I smile. From the side it looks like a hook... so I’ve been stressed and self-conscious about it since I was young. What I want is a nose that feels natural-to-nice, like a naturally pretty nose? You know, a nose that looks like it was there from birth, without any awkward parts, that kind of feeling. For the nose line, I want Haerin’s nose. I don’t think I can get it as overall small and slender as Haerin’s, but a round tip that doesn’t feel too blunt. I want the line from the bridge all the way to the tip to be like Haerin’s nose too. And I really hate the idea of just pulling the nose farther forward and longer to correct the hooked nose and nasolabial angle. I want the nose length itself to get shorter. From what I looked up, places that reposition the alar cartilage seem to make the nose feel fundamentally shorter, so I’m looking for places like that. Right now my nostrils are almost invisible from the front, so I’d like the amount of nostril showing to be just like Haerin’s. I honestly don’t mind if the hump is left as is. So I’m in the middle of doing a lot of research and in-person visits, and I want you to look at this list. The hospital surgery reviews are okay, but I’m not taking recommendations because the broker vibe is way too obvious. Also, I’m mostly looking into private nose-specialty clinics. Large hospitals don’t really inspire trust or attract me for some reason; I feel like each patient might not be that important there. 1. ㅂㅇㅂ-ㅇㅇㅁ 3.8 million KRW CT taken, consultation fee free No implant, ear cartilage, septum + nasolabial angle correction + slight hump reduction + bulbous nose correction + crooked nose correction, so it was in the mid-4 million range, but with the review event it seemed to go down to 3.8 million. However, they said the septal cartilage wasn’t that large, so they might open it up and use rib cartilage, which I didn’t like much. They raised it with a cotton swab, but I wasn’t super happy with it. And the doctor didn’t explain my nose very well, just kept saying it would definitely turn out well, so I wasn’t drawn in from the start. I feel like if someone with a nose like mine did it there, they’d probably need revision surgery later. One of my friends with a simple low, straight nose had it done there, and it hasn’t been long so I’m not sure yet, but if I just had a simple low nose I probably would have chosen this place. But I don’t think I’ll go here. The director and coordinator were kind. 2. ㅂㅌㅇ-ㅇㅈㅎ 4.45 million KRW CT taken, consultation fee 20,000 KRW No implant, septum + ear cartilage + nasolabial angle correction + bulbous nose correction + crooked nose correction + hump smoothing + filling the step-off with cartilage It was 4.45 million KRW if you agreed to partial disclosure. If you didn’t write a review, I think it was a little over 5 million. I was very picky about what I wanted and kept asking questions, and they explained everything really well and described my nose clearly, which I liked a lot. They also drew the nose line and lifted it with a cotton swab, which I liked. The coordinator was very kind too, but the wait was a bit long, which annoyed me. Even then, I thought it was too expensive for a first nose surgery without implants, so I ruled it out, but now I’m being gaslit into thinking that for a private clinic and my nose, that price is okay. I’ve kept it as a candidate. But looking at reviews, I see quite a few saying the hooked-nose tip dropped, so I don’t think I’ll do it.. When I read hooked-nose tip reviews, some people say it became much shorter like I want, while others say the length stayed the same and only the angle got higher, so I’m torn. Also, I’m bothered that some reviews don’t include frontal photos.. they’re all side views.. 3. ㅈㄷ-ㄱㅇㅎ 4.3 million KRW (they say there’s a 1.09 million KRW event, but I don’t know if that’s included in the price; I didn’t ask properly because I felt after the consultation that I would absolutely not go there) CT taken, consultation fee 10,000 KRW No implant, ear cartilage, septum + nasolabial angle correction + slight hump reduction + bulbous nose correction + crooked nose correction (they said they would do osteotomy) I went there with some expectation after reading that famous hooked-nose consultation review on this community, but honestly... it was the worst. The coordinator kept interrupting and not listening to me until the end, and kept saying things like, “That’s absolutely not possible~,” which annoyed me in the middle of the consultation. They weren’t even properly listening to what I wanted before saying that. And the doctor felt kind of indecisive..? My crooked nose doesn’t look that severe, and no clinic had ever said that before, so when they brought up osteotomy I was like, huh? But it also wasn’t framed as “you absolutely have to do this”; it was more like, “You want to correct the crooked nose, right? Then we’ll do a slight osteotomy and something like this,” which made it feel even less trustworthy. They didn’t really look at the CT properly, didn’t feel my nose with their hands, didn’t raise it with a cotton swab, and I completely lost interest because their hands smelled weird. Consultation visits planned from here on out 4. ㄷㄹ-ㄱㅈㅇ The before-and-after photos don’t really draw me in. The tip comes down in a round way, but there’s no columella, so when seen from the side the nostril isn’t visible at all, which isn’t my taste. It feels kind of vague.. But just from looking at the review photos, the front and side views seem okay, and they also do alar cartilage repositioning, so after looking at the three places above I thought, ah... there really aren’t many places I like.. and quickly booked a consultation. I’ll probably go after Lunar New Year. I like a nose shape that’s round but slender from the front, with a good amount of nostril showing. + Review of ㄷㄹ 5.2 million KRW (there are reviews; 4.9 million if paid in cash) CT taken, consultation fee 10,000 KRW At first, the consultation coordinator seemed knowledgeable and kind, but the little comments they kept tossing out once in a while felt unpleasant. The doctor noticed that the distal septum in my nose is quite crooked, that my philtrum is very short, that the C-curve is deep, and that the columella is hanging long, and explained the pros and cons of a septal strut versus lengthening surgery. And apparently there is alar retraction... after the consultation I looked it up and it seemed to mean a short nose..? But I’m not actually a short-nosed person.. what is it? No clinic I’ve been to has ever described me that way. I’ll write down the pros and cons of each surgery as I understood them. Septal strut - if you do a septal strut, my current nose would look even longer because the columella is already long, and with my short philtrum I would be really dissatisfied. And the important thing is that the septum available to correct the crooked nose isn’t large, so the bent nose would probably show more. Septal lengthening - this also wouldn’t correct the crooked nose well, and I think the nose might drop later. So in the end they recommended rib cartilage... I really had no intention of using rib cartilage... They said autologous rib cartilage would be 5.2 million KRW I liked that they were considering facial balance while talking about my short philtrum, but I’m confused because I heard so many things there that I hadn’t heard from other clinics until now. I think I need to ask the doctors at the remaining two clinics too. I was glad they explained the limitations of surgery, but at the same time I wondered if that meant they lacked technique..? Honestly, I feel like I want to deny the idea that my nose needs rib cartilage. But the doctor himself was really good at explaining, and it was the first time someone explained the surgical methods in such detail, so I really liked that. 5. ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ-ㅇㅇㅇ The fact that they don’t pack the nose with cotton and don’t use a splint really made me trust them. I made a reservation because it seems like they have know-how, but I haven’t seen many hooked-nose reviews there, so I’m a bit unsure.. I do like the shape.. but I don’t know if they’re good at hooked noses too. Also, their nose lines all seem close to a semi-curved shape, so I’m torn. I’m going there next week after Lunar New Year too. 6. ㅈㅅ-ㅅㅈㅅ Honestly, I wrote this because of this place, but this is also the latest consultation in mid-February I got really tempted after seeing hooked-nose correction reviews on the blog, but then I’m worried because the doctor’s aesthetic sense doesn’t seem that great I’m most excited about them because they seem really good at correcting hooked and crooked noses (based on the blog). And if I get it done there, I don’t think I’d end up mentally spiraling because of a weird shape, but for bulbous-nose correction I sometimes see pinched-nose-looking results, and from the front the nostrils are too visible, so I’m worried.. I plan to ask about this in the consultation. They also seem to do alar cartilage repositioning here. Also, I’m a bit worried that if I do it here, the bulbous nose might not get corrected very well,,,? And there just aren’t enough reviews here If anyone has had it done here, please leave reviews. I also called ㅋㅇㅍㄽ and ㅇㅂㄹ, but they were booked through March, and I definitely want to get it done by mid-March, so I gave up. I didn’t feel there was enough advantage to wait that long. If there’s anyone with a hooked nose + crooked nose + bulbous nose + hump like me, please tell me if you have experience or reviews.. I’m not accepting brokers. I’ll add more after I go to the remaining clinics for consultations. A nose like mine is really hard please help me.
