I work as a freelance model, and for a long time I’ve lived with a really strong interest in and sense of importance about self-care and appearance.
In early June, I got filler for the first time in my life, and honestly, around the time my nose had settled and looked its prettiest, I thought, this isn’t permanent anyway and it’ll go down someday,
so I decided to get surgery. I got dissolving filler injections, waited a week, and finally had the surgery today.. hahaha
On the day I dissolved the filler, I didn’t know this, but I had a severe allergy to the filler-dissolving injection called hyalase, so my face swelled up so much. I got injections and an IV at the hospital for 4 hours, and even after going home, I lived for 3 or 4 days looking like it wasn’t my face. After about 5 days, my pre-filler face started coming back,
and I newly realized, ah.. I should be grateful for my original face too.. I stayed home all week, then on the day itself I quickly went shoo-shoo-shoo-shoo-shook and got the surgery without thinking much.
I had never once had a knife put to my body since birth, and I had never had anesthesia either, so I was very worried. I put on surgical clothes for the first time
and went into the operating room, but rather than being scared, maybe because I like movies for no reason, it felt like an operating room from a medical movie or foreign film, so it was fascinating and exciting... hahaha When I got the anesthesia IV, maybe because it was my first time getting an injection in my left arm, they couldn’t see a vein there, so they poked incorrectly about 5 times while apologizing, and eventually only after I couldn’t feel the needle at all anymore did they find a vein and I was anesthetized lol..
If I’m someone with safety insensitivity, then I think I’m a person who has safety insensitivity, but anesthesia scared me more than the surgery, so I think I spent three or four hours a day just searching rhinoplasty and sleep anesthesia reviews like crazy... lol I’m sure there are people like me, so I’ll explain it really in detail.
First, when you go in, you lie on the bed, and interestingly, you lie down with your head sticking out upward more, so your chin is lifted! I think it’s probably so they can see inside the nose better during surgery.
Then they check your blood pressure on your arm and give you an injection on the back of your hand. Maybe because my eyes were closed, but I didn’t feel anything.
After that, they tell you to close your eyes and take deep breaths. (I’ll skip the part where they couldn’t find the vein.) Then they say, “The medicine that makes you sleepy is going in now.” In reviews, I mostly saw people say they got dazed like they were on drugs, felt like they were walking on clouds, or passed out by the time they counted from one to three out of ten, but I worried about things like, what if I don’t fall asleep, or what if I wake up in the middle and feel everything. But really.... those were stupid worries. One, two, three is a lie; I went inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhaaa— and when I opened my eyes, the ceiling had changed...
The structure was that the patient had to walk from the operating room to the recovery room on their own feet, but I really don’t remember anything at all lol.... It wasn’t the surgery details; I couldn’t remember how I walked all the way there... lolololol I saw a Black woman come in beside me about 10 minutes later, looking like she was in a lot of pain, like a sick deer, and I thought, ah.. was I like that??... things like that lololol
The nurse said I needed to rest and told me to close my eyes for an hour or two, but I absolutely couldn’t sleep, so I lay there with my eyes open in a daze by myself for about 30 minutes. Since I really couldn’t sleep, they asked if I wanted to change clothes, and the moment I stood up, I wobbled two or three times like getting up from a floor seat to pay after drinking about a bottle and a half of soju. I changed clothes, made one phone call with a friend in the first-floor lobby, then took a taxi perfectly fine to the terminal, bought a bus ticket, and came home hahaha...
Somehow this turned more into today’s diary than a story about my nose, but honestly, my nose wasn’t that ugly; I did it out of my own desire haha
I had mesh rhinoplasty, and rather than a big, masculine nose like Jung Woo-sung or Daniel Henney, I wanted a thin, pointed feeling like women’s noses that would suit my face, so I had surgery using nasal bridge osteotomy and ear cartilage. I have bandages on my nose and ear, and I had the surgery around 2:30 today? Some people say the ear hurts more than the nose, but I don’t feel anything in either... lolololol Seriously, there is no pain at all to the point that it feels like I didn’t do it, and there’s no itching or burning sensation either....
It seems like the anesthesia should have worn off by now though... It’s just that because there is cotton inside my nose, it’s so painful that it’s hard to breathe ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Now it’s past midnight, and tomorrow I’m going to get the cotton inside my nose and the ear bandage removed, and I’m really looking forward to it.. hahahahaha Honestly, the nose has a lot of side effects and all, but I think there’s nothing to worry about if you do it at a place with experienced directors at a large clinic.
If it goes wrong even after doing it at a place like that, then no matter where in Korea you go or what cosmetic surgery you do, it’ll go wrong lol... I really hope my nose turns out pretty. I’ll upload photos after about 2 weeks!!
Thank you so much for reading this long post, and today I’ll sleep sitting in a chair. I want the swelling to go down quickly so I can go out and have fun hahaha They say day 2 has the worst swelling, but so far there isn’t swelling except for bruising hehe
