I went to two consultations today, and while writing a review, I’m posting because I’m worried about the material for my nasal tip!! 1. ㅅㄱ - ㅇㅈㅊ They didn’t take a CT scan and checked by putting a cotton swab deep into my nose. I teared up when they put the cotton swab in my nose The director gave me a really long consultation and explained things in detail. When I look at review photos on ㄱㄴㅇㄴ, all the nose shapes look pretty similar (I went to this hospital because I liked that shape), but they listened to my opinions more than I expected. They said if I want silicone, I can get it, and if I don’t want it, I don’t have to. For the nasal tip material, they also weren’t like, “You absolutely must use costal cartilage”... So it felt like there wasn’t a definite conclusion on exactly how the surgery would be done? It felt like they were telling me to decide everything however I want. 2. ㅁㅂ - ㄱㅈㅎ They took a CT scan and explained while looking at the images. They showed a PPT with the surgical method and photos of nasal tip materials. This place emphasized nasal tip materials a lot. They said silicone should be inserted and that osteotomy wasn’t necessary. They said septal cartilage and ear cartilage basically have to be put into the nasal tip, and because I have a bulbous nose and my nasal tip is a bit thick, if costal cartilage isn’t used, there won’t be enough supporting strength. So they told me to think about whether to use autologous costal cartilage or donated costal cartilage. They said autologous costal cartilage is really expensive, the rib area is painful, and donated costal cartilage only requires sedation anesthesia, but has a 5-7% chance of being absorbed or causing inflammation. I liked the director at hospital 1 more. Somehow I felt like the director and I had a more similar aesthetic sense. But hospital 2 felt more specialized, so I feel like I should do it at hospital 2..... First of all, between donated costal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage, which do you recommend more? I want it to look as natural as possible, so in that case, could I skip costal cartilage?
크림치즈 Ah, that’s a tough decision. But if it were me, I think I’d want to do my first surgery without using costal cartilage.. If hospital 1 said you don’t have to use it, maybe it’s okay not to? Think it over one more time.
