About 3 years ago, after having rhinitis surgery (septal deviation correction, inferior turbinate surgery, nasal valve correction) at ㅇㅈ Plastic Surgery, I found out about 6 months later that a septal perforation had occurred. The doctor who did my first surgery as an after-service had left the clinic, so the next person who came did reconstructive surgery related to the perforation, but 2 weeks later I was told it had failed. I fought with the hospital, and time passed, and it has already been 2 years. I looked into 2 places for reconstructive surgery: one says a 90% success rate and 10 million won, the other says a 50% success rate and 5 million won. They say if there is no discomfort, I can just live with it, but the septal correction was not done properly. Before the rhinitis surgery, I couldn't breathe through the left side, but now, maybe because of the perforation, I can't breathe well through the right side. Crusts or mucus keep getting stuck in the perforation, causing nasal congestion, and that is so uncomfortable. Fortunately, the rhinitis has not recurred, which is good, but I have this nasal congestion and psychological stress from knowing there is a perforation as large as 1.5 cm in my septum. The surgery success rate is not very high and the cost is not easy either, so I'm debating Is there anyone else like this or anyone with experience?
밝복함x It’s so absurd that the price changes depending on the success rate. It’s not like going to Kangwon Land and playing slot machines.
dldl333 After fighting for 2 years, did you receive a settlement or refund?
마음봄 I got a refund and a little compensation
마음봄 I barely got it after fighting for over a year
코코재코 For me, a month ago they said the perforation was 0.5 or 0.7 (at different hospitals), but a month later, when I went for a consultation at another hospital, they said it was 10.02 mm... I don’t know if it grew that much in the meantime or if each hospital measures it differently. They say once it goes over 1 cm, the chance of reconstruction failure increases Honestly, I want to just hold out for a few years, but how did you decide? I’m struggling with the exact same concern. There aren’t many hospitals that handle this either...
