3 years ago, I had my nasal hump shaved down and had implant-free nasal tip surgery using ear cartilage and septal cartilage. I never had a CT scan before surgery and just went straight into the operation. The surgical design was done while I was lying on the operating table, and they didn’t even show me a mirror. They didn’t put on a splint, just taping, and that was it. On the day of surgery, I really liked my side profile and thought it went well, but once all the swelling went down, there wasn’t much difference from before. My bulbous nose was my biggest complex, but from the front, I barely felt like the bulbous nose improved. It just looked like maybe I had lost a little weight? That was about the only effect. And after surgery, the crookedness of my nose was pretty noticeable, so when I went in for a follow-up and revision consultation and mentioned it, they said my facial axis was crooked to begin with, so there was nothing they could do, and that making only the nose straight on an asymmetric face would look even more awkward. And when I said I wanted revision surgery to improve the inside of my nose protruding and narrowing the nostril, they said ear cartilage is weak? so they had to fold it several times to use it, and that’s why it protruded, and if surgery made my nose look higher, wasn’t that enough, and wasn’t a little discomfort inside okay..; Overall I was disappointed, including how the nasal tip dropped after the swelling went down, so while talking about revision surgery, I said I’d think about whether to use cartilage from the other ear or autologous costal cartilage and come back for another consultation later. But when I went back later, they said the doctor had quit and left to open a private clinic They said if I wanted revision surgery, I’d have to do it with another director, so I said I’d think about it and just lived with it. But because the narrowed nostril made breathing so uncomfortable, I went for a revision consultation, consulted with another director, and scheduled surgery. I asked whether the narrowed nostril on one side was a side effect that caused a deviated septum, so I had a CT scan for the first time, and without any detailed explanation, they just said it wasn’t a deviated septum. They said that if I used autologous costal cartilage, it would be possible to improve the protrusion inside the nose caused by folding the ear cartilage several times, so 1 year ago I had revision nasal tip surgery with autologous costal cartilage. At the last consultation with the doctor right before revision surgery, I begged them to make the nasolabial angle at least 90 degrees, but even though they used autologous costal cartilage and my nasal tip became very high, there’s no difference at all in the nasolabial angle compared with before revision surgery; Even with autologous costal cartilage, there was absolutely no improvement in the bulbous nose from the front. On the day they removed the splint and took out the stitches, during the consultation I said the nasolabial angle was narrower than I expected, and that if it came down more after the swelling went down, it seemed like it would get very narrow. They said autologous costal cartilage doesn’t come down any further and would stay exactly like it was. In every review I looked up, they said even autologous costal cartilage drops at the nasal tip once all the swelling goes down.. Now that all the swelling is gone, the nasal tip has completely dropped, so the nasolabial angle is the same as before revision And right before surgery during the consultation, the doctor seemed really annoyed? tired? If I said anything, they looked at me with an expression like..what is she talking about? I showed photos of the nose I wanted, and they glanced at them with an uninterested expression and said that to do it like this, I’d need silicone in the bridge.. I showed them as a reference for the bridge line and nasal tip shape; And when I said I didn’t want the nose to lift slightly and become shorter with more nostril show if the nasal tip was raised upward, I think they made it slightly long. Saying I didn’t want it shorter didn’t mean I wanted it lengthened And the thing I cared about most, the protrusion inside my nose, didn’t improve at all. If anything, it protrudes more than before revision, I developed nostril asymmetry, and when seen from the side, the protruding nasal mucous membrane is visible. This makes me the angriest. And recently I saw something black in the skin of my nasal tip (the part with the wound on the tip in the photo), and I thought it might be a blackhead, so I tried all kinds of things to remove it. When I tried to pull it out with tweezers, it made a ting sound and wouldn’t come out. I’m wondering if the revision surgery made the nasal tip skin thinner and a stitch is sticking out, so I made a consultation appointment at another hospital to ask. I regret the revision so much, and even before the swelling from the revision went down, I’ve been looking for other hospitals every day to get a second revision
