It’s now been 3 days since I had eye and nose surgery.. There aren’t many reviews from men, so I’m writing this in hopes it helps others get information. (To be honest, I’m writing because I have nothing to do at home.)
The reason I decided to have surgery was that even though I’m in my late 20s, my eyes made me look too gentle, and I had a bulbous nose, so I thought I should get surgery. Among my friends, some had good results, and some suffered from side effects, so I thought surgery really varies case by case. But rather than just wanting surgery and growing old with that thought until I die, I figured I should get the surgery first and think about the rest afterward, so I decided to go through with it. I thought that instead of continuing to live with this complex weighing on my mind, I could research hospitals carefully and get the surgery done properly.
I personally thought I was fairly ordinary, but I don’t think the surgery methods were ordinary.. What I had in mind was that for the eyes, I could just get them pinched in place (buried suture method), and if needed, have ptosis correction too. For the nose, since it wasn’t low, I thought I would only need bulbous nose correction.
But as I self-diagnosed like that and went around for consultations, I became even more confused.. Every hospital and every director recommended different surgical methods, and they were different from what I had thought, so I worried to the point of wondering whether I should even have surgery..
The reason I chose the hospital was, well.. I had a long consultation with the director, about 1 hour,, Of course, it may have been because I was doing two areas, eyes and nose, but I explained the parts I had complexes about and told the director about the surgical methods I had been thinking of. The director listened to everything and explained that if we did it the way I had thought, for various reasons, he recommended different methods instead. That part really moved me on a personal level, so I decided to have surgery there. Of course, I also liked the review photos. My motto was, “If I’m going to do it anyway, let’s do it properly.”
So the decided surgery plan was: Eyes: incisional ptosis correction + medial epicanthoplasty Director’s opinion: There is a lot of fat in the upper eyelids, and as time passes the eyes may look increasingly droopy. The inner corners of the eyes look somewhat closed off, so it would be good to do medial epicanthoplasty together.
For my nose, since my face is slightly long like a horse-face type, I wanted it not to look long and not to look unnatural. Nose: Without silicone, using septal cartilage for the nasal bridge and nasal tip, bulbous nose correction, nasal bridge osteotomy, arrow-shaped nose correction, and hump nose correction, so it became a major surgery.
Although it became a major surgery unlike what I had originally thought, I chose the hospital because the director seemed confident. Since it was my own decision, I have no regrets at all right now. It’s still hard to breathe and many things are uncomfortable, but when I think of it as going through some hardship to get better, it doesn’t feel too difficult.
Because of the splint and swelling, I still can’t really tell yet, but when I went to the hospital for a postoperative checkup, the director smiled and told me the surgery went well, so I feel relieved ^^ I’ll leave another post when the shape starts to show more. Thank you.
