It’s been two months now, so I uploaded the most recent photos! Reason I got surgery: Have you ever had a hump nose? It’s seriously unbearable.. On top of that, my nose spread out to the sides, so from the front my face looked asymmetrical, and I was stressed because my nose looked even wider. When I was younger, I just put up with it, but even after I got older, makeup couldn’t cover it, so I decided to get surgery... But since I had just started working, I couldn’t pay for it myself.. I got it with my parents’ help, so I felt like I really shouldn’t waste money carelessly, and I seriously went around to consultations very diligently. Consultation: I went to 2 places, and I chose them after reading reviews, so I liked the design itself, but the doctor’s consultation was way too short. Honestly, it was so different from what I’d seen in the reviews that I was even more disappointed. (Everyone, don’t trust reviews 100%. It’s more important to go see and feel things for yourself..) Still, the last place I went to was good because the doctor looked at everything in detail during the consultation. It was to the point where the waiting didn’t feel like a waste?? Anyway, I liked everything, including the design, but hmm.. I was really torn about the nasal materials. Nasal materials: Silicone ok, hump nose ok, bulbous nose ok, but.. do I really have to use autologous costal cartilage? I think I agonized a lot because of that question. But then, when I read reviews from people who used donated rib cartilage, there were many comments saying it drooped and they had to redo it... I was also told after looking at the CT that I didn’t have much septal cartilage, so I decided on autologous costal cartilage. Post-surgery recovery: First of all, the term “cotton panic disorder” didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s seriously suffocating.. But once that was over, wearing the splint didn’t bother me as much as I expected, and I really didn’t care about the splint as much as I thought.... The autologous costal cartilage area bothered me more, so my hand kept going to my abdomen out of habit.. Not so much because it hurt, but because it felt tight? I think that was it. But that also went away in less than 2 weeks, and honestly, once the splint came off, I could see the shape of my nose, so every day I only had time to think things like, Is all the swelling gone? Does it look pretty? Is the nasal tip not drooping? I had no room to think about anything else; Anyway, until the one-month mark, there was still minor swelling left, so the morning swelling and evening swelling were different, but I kept getting care at the clinic, and as more time passed, I think I like it more now than I did then? People around me also say I did well to get it done, and although I did get surgery with my parents’ money, I’m just most relieved that I didn’t commit an unfilial act through plastic surgery... whew...
