I don’t know if anyone will be curious about my nose surgery, but I’m writing this in case it helps. My original plan was just to look into something simple like thread filler..? or CoGelCo? and decide which one to get, but I also wanted to get rhinoplasty consultations, so I casually went to two places for consultations. The first place was one I found through reviews on ㅇㄴ ㄱㄴㅇㄴ, and they recommended hump nose correction + nasal bridge + nasal tip + autologous costal cartilage/donated rib cartilage. They told me to choose between the two materials, and I liked the consultation, but the cost came out much higher than my budget, so it felt a bit burdensome. Still, the review photos were pretty, so I thought about it a lot. The clinic was also large and clean. The second place was ㄹㅁㅊ in Jamsil, and they recommended nasal bridge + nasal tip + ear cartilage + bulbous nose correction. The price range was okay, they had aftercare, and when I looked at reviews there were many different cases, so I thought it would be better to get it done there and went with them. The reason I didn’t get filler was because people around me told me not to get filler..? lol simple, right... I had surgery using ear cartilage, and after surgery, my ear hurt more than my nose.. But by the next day it was fine, and then swelling slowly started coming up. It reached its peak on days 3–4, and thankfully started going down little by little from day 5. When my swelling was really bad, I kept lurking around a community thinking, what if this is botched? But after the swelling went down, I wondered why I had been like that lol. Thinking about it, it was cut open and operated on with a blade, so of course swelling makes sense.. Right after the splint was removed was a sight to see. I thought the Avatar-like swelling would stay that way and got worked up by myself I guess I get really sensitive after surgery... I was anxious and asked the clinic a ton of questions, but they responded well on KakaoTalk, so it was okay.. Now all the swelling in my nose is gone, and to others my nose does look high, but it got higher so naturally that people might wonder, did they do it? did they not? From the front, there’s no pinched feeling, and I’m happy because I can’t find that characteristic bulbous-nose look anymore. If anyone reading this is planning rhinoplasty, don’t be overly greedy. Absolutely. This is something not just I, but also people around me who got rhinoplasty, all agree on. Even if you get the nose you want, if it doesn’t match the harmony of your face, you’ll just become someone who looks obviously operated on.. So I didn’t specifically say how much higher I wanted it. I asked them to raise it to a height that suits me. I’m satisfied with my nose surgery now, but seeing that there are many people here whose results don’t turn out well, please be really careful. I hope you look into clinics that are a good fit and choose wisely.
