Originally, I had a lot of fat on my upper eyelids and eyes that I couldn’t open very well. Back then, I just thought my eyes must be small, and I wanted to make my eyes as big as possible by getting epicanthoplasty too.
But during the surgery consultation, the doctor said my eyes weren’t small, and that my lacrimal caruncle was already visible in the front, so there was nothing more to open there.. He said if I only got double eyelid surgery and practiced hard opening my eyes using only the eye muscles, my eyes would get bigger.
So I just had double eyelid surgery by incision, removing a lot of fat from the upper eyelids. But maybe because I only practiced opening my eyes in the beginning and then got lazy.. before even 1 year passed, the double eyelid came undone. At the same place, they pinched the eyes again using the buried suture method.
The second surgery was the buried suture method, so it was much simpler than the first, but I was very worried that if it kept coming undone like this, I would have to keep getting revision surgeries. So at that time, I really practiced opening my eyes like my life depended on it..
And now nearly 11 years have passed.. Now my double eyelids look really natural and pretty, like they were my original double eyelids, and I can open my eyes well, so I think my eyes are quite pretty in their own way.. But now I don’t like that they look too natural, so I’m thinking about getting revision surgery to make the line a bit bigger.
