My surgery was at 11:30 today, so I went to the clinic, and even in the morning the clinic looked busy.. I visited a total of 3 times, and all 3 times the clinic was packed. Is that why they have so many coordinators? I respect them.. After paying, changing clothes, getting a CT scan, and signing the consent form, I went straight onto the operating table.. I was lying on the operating table for almost 30 minutes while they trimmed my nose hairs and disinfected my nose, and that was honestly when I was the most nervous. I was so nervous that I even thought, should I run away even now.. Oh, and if I had to choose the two hardest things on surgery day, 1. When disinfecting my nose, they poked both nostrils 10 times each with a cotton swab, and they did it so painfully.. Still, it was bearable 2. Before the director came in, after disinfecting, plucking nose hairs, and waiting while lying down, the operating table was seriously so uncomfortable. After lying there for about 30 minutes, the back of my head hurt like crazy. I thought if they anesthetized me like this I’d get a cervical disc problem, so I moved my head little by little, but the assistant scolded me and told me absolutely not to move They told me not to move, but I moved again, and I think I got warned about 3 times. Sorry Then the director came in, anesthesia started, and I fell asleep right away. I thought I’d wake up in the recovery room, but I woke up in the middle and asked the director if it was over, and they said it was almost done. We talked a bit and I fell asleep again. But then I woke up again. I think they were at the stage of tying something. But I felt some pain, so I went, “Ah! Ah!” and when I said I could feel pain, they put me back to sleep right away. When I woke up, I was in the recovery room. I didn’t have nausea or anything like that, just hunger and dizziness. The surgery seemed to take about 1.5 to 2 hours. I was surprised it was faster than I expected. After doing my surgery, the director went into another surgery too, which was impressive.. I came home around 4, thoroughly ate sweet pumpkin porridge, and slept sitting up for about three hours. I slept so deeply that I didn’t even know I was bleeding.. People say it’s hard not being able to breathe through your nose, but it’s better than I expected. Is it because it’s the first day? I don’t mind discomfort, I just hope there’s no pain I have a few questions. 1. Is it okay to do ice packs even on the day of surgery? I don’t have swelling yet. 2. I’m planning to sleep sitting up for a week. Will that make swelling much less severe? 3. Are there any useful tips for 1 to 2 weeks after surgery?
