Too natural-looking *Nasal materials I was commonly told about Silicone + costal cartilage Here, ㄹㅂㄹ and ㄱㄹㄷ told me to choose between autologous costal cartilage and donated costal cartilage, and ㄱㄴ recommended surgery with autologous costal cartilage. I had CT scans at all of them, and the consultations with the directors were generally good too. (For reference, among the places I went to, ㄹㅂㄹ was the hardest to schedule a consultation with, so I recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance.) *Consultation details ㄹㅂㄹ: The director seemed extremely confident about rhinoplasty. There were also many revision surgery reviews, and the review photos here were generally my style, so this was a place I went to with high expectations. They drew a picture to go over the nose design, revised the design several times, and checked whether the design I wanted matched the design the director had planned. They said using costal cartilage for the nasal tip would be best, but the material choice was mostly up to me. They explained autologous costal cartilage and donated costal cartilage really well. I think it would be fine to go there not only for revision surgery, but also for a first-surgery consultation. If you can get an appointment, that is...?? ㄱㄹㄷ: This was also a place I went to because I liked the review photos, but um.. I did not really like the consultation that much, so I do not have much to write Still, there was no pressure about materials, and the director seemed good at surgery. They explained things kindly and well too, but there were a lot of foreigners at the clinic. ㄱㄴ: There was a bit of a wait, but this was the place where the consultation with the consultant was the longest. The consultation with the director was good too, but it did feel like I was recommended more things than I expected. Still, they planned the nose design well. I had been stressed because my nasal tip was drooping, making my midface look long and my mouth look protruded, and they immediately pointed that out and explained well while showing me the CT, including individually adjusting the nasolabial angle line. The director here was also extremely confident. They said my nose was not that difficult and that it was definitely a nose that could improve, so I think that made me feel psychologically reassured. The consultant did pressure me a bit to book, but getting patients itself is their job, so.. it did not feel too burdensome. *Final decision The reason I was considering revision surgery was because of the indecisive consultation during my first surgery + a nose design I did not like, so I think I really tried to focus on those points when deciding. The places that recommended autologous costal cartilage did not recommend donated costal cartilage or other materials like ear cartilage because the nasal tip can easily droop, and I did not completely fail to understand that reason either, so I think that made me even more confused.. In conclusion, I have already set a date to have revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage, so I wrote this hoping it might help everyone looking into revision surgery. I used to think autologous costal cartilage = the final form of rhinoplasty.. but these days, a lot of people use autologous costal cartilage even for first surgeries, right?
