Hump reduction + osteotomy + Cojelco nose review First, my concerns about my nose before surgery were that, from the front, it looked bulky + the nasal tip drooped and spread out. I had a slight hump, so it was not like I had no nasal bridge at all, and I did not have a strong desire to augment the bridge. After the consultation, I was recommended hump reduction + osteotomy + nasal tip Cojelco. Personally, I wondered, is the hump really severe enough to shave down? So I asked the doctor once more, and he said it would be better to shave it down while doing the surgery. When it was actually right before surgery, I started wanting a slightly higher bridge too, so I asked, “Are we not doing anything to my nasal bridge..?” and he said, “I think it should be fine without doing anything~” so I said, “Okay,” and went into surgery Personally, what I was most worried about was unexpectedly the sedation anesthesia... It has been a long time since I was treated, so it is not severe, but I have anxiety + panic disorder. When I had a sedated endoscopy for a health checkup, it did not really feel like I slept, and it felt like I was half-awake, so I was worried it might be uncomfortable or painful during surgery I mentioned this during the consultation with the manager, and the manager said she also has panic disorder and told me that a sedative would be given together, so it would not be difficult. Sure enough, as soon as I entered the operating room and they attached the machines, I got nervous and my pulse was so fast that the nurse told me I needed to calm down, but once the medication went in, I became comfortable and apparently slept well. (I think I said something in the middle and the doctor answered me, but I do not remember) As soon as I woke up, the first thing I asked was, “Did my heart keep beating fast even after I was anesthetized???” (They said it was okay during anesthesia.) I walked to the recovery room myself with support, came to my senses in about 20-30 minutes, changed clothes, took a taxi, and came home. They say if you only do Cojelco, they do not put on a splint, but I had osteotomy, so I had a splint and taping. As for pain, only the hump + osteotomy areas felt very slightly numb/tingly, and the area where ear cartilage was harvested hurt a bit more than anything else. On days 1-2 after surgery, I kept having a little nosebleed, and because it went down the back of my throat, blood also came out mixed with phlegm. The idea that there is no pain and recovery is fast is for when Cojelco is done alone, and since I had hump reduction plus osteotomy, I thought there would be quite a bit of pain and swelling, but it hurt so little that I wondered if I had really had surgery. Only the ear pain bothered me for about a week, and after about 2 weeks, I could sleep well lying on my side toward the ear where cartilage was harvested... From around the evening of surgery day, swelling and bruising started coming up little by little, but even that all went away within a week. Because there was the Lunar New Year holiday after surgery, I could not complete a full week and had the splint removed on day 6. I was so, so curious about the shape, and since the bridge definitely had not been built up, rather than feeling like it had changed dramatically, it felt like my nose became slimmer somehow...? From the side, the hump is smoothed out and the nasal tip is lifted, so it shows, but from the front it is just subtly more defined! After the splint was removed, I saw the doctor, and he said that once the surrounding swelling goes down, the nose will look higher. Since it was still surgery, I took about ten days off by combining it with the Lunar New Year holiday, but honestly I think I could have gone to work right after the splint was removed. If I did not care about the splint being visible, I think I could have done it even before then As of today, it has been a little over 3 weeks, and I am waiting, hoping that once the residual swelling goes down more, it will become just a little more refined and prominent!!
