Reason I decided on surgery My uneven and large face had always been a concern and complex since I was young, but I had never thought about touching the bones, so I lived thinking, let’s just be satisfied with pretty eyes and otherwise average features~ But after becoming an adult, I became more and more interested in my appearance, so I tried manual facial contouring treatments, but there were limits.. Then I became interested in facial contouring surgery and, after seeing review photos, I really wanted to do it. Still, bone surgery is risky, so I tried to ignore it, but every time I looked in the mirror or at photos, I only saw my angular face, so I decided to go around for hospital consultations! I’ve never seen myself from other people’s perspective, so I don’t know well, but when I saw videos or the mirror, my face felt wider and more angular than the pre-op photo I uploaded!! Reason for choosing the hospital I only went to two consultations.. At first, I thought oral and maxillofacial surgery would still be safer, so I went for a consultation, but it didn’t really resonate with me.. I was talking about facial contouring, but the director only talked about two-jaw surgery. Then I came here for a consultation, and the director kept shaking his leg while thinking about how to operate, then explained it to me. He also took photos of my face and explained directly on top of them! So it felt convincing, and I just got hooked.. So I decided without going anywhere else! Before surgery I was really busy before surgery, so I think I spent the time in a daze. So I barely felt nervous or worried.. I don’t think I had any thoughts even when I went into the operating room and until anesthesia.. I’m originally not the type to worry much + I had unlimited trust in the director After surgery When I opened my eyes, the surgery was over!! I was moved to the inpatient room, and as for pain, I had nothing except nausea from anesthesia aftereffects + a headache because I have forward head posture and had been sitting with bad posture. There was nothing like bone pain at all; it was just uncomfortable, so I kept waking up and falling asleep Week 1 My face was very swollen, so I walked about 15,000~20,000 steps a day, and except when eating, I wore the compression band all day until sleeping. My lips were so swollen that it was uncomfortable, and because of tooth tightness? it was a bit uncomfortable when sleeping. Other than not being able to wash properly, it was okay! From exactly day 8, I wore a mask and went to work, and there was no discomfort. Speaking wasn’t uncomfortable either, but smiling was uncomfortable Week 2 Until the stitches were removed, the swelling felt similar from after week 1 to week 2, and after removing the stitches, it seemed to go down much more quickly! I’m so so so excited for the 1-month mark Other things The protruding areas in the after photos are swelling!! I think there is still quite a lot of swelling in the chin, and the cheek area hasn’t gone down fully either, so it seems to look bumpy!! When I touch it, it’s swelling My request was “Please shave as much as possible within a safe range, but I don’t want an overly sharp V-line” After seeing the post-op CT, it was shaved cleanly, and he shaved it with enough margin from the nerve line, so I was really happy!! Honestly, at first I thought the difference on CT wasn’t as big as expected, so I felt a little disappointed, but it’s also because my nerve line is a bit low As the swelling goes down, I can see the visual difference, so I think it was shaved beautifully with just the right proportions! If you tell the consultant in advance, you can view the full CCTV footage. So I watched everything at several-times speed, from when I came in, the director came in, the surgery was completely finished and he left, to when I woke up and left! The consultant? sitting next to me showing it also explained everything very diligently Who came in, what they were doing, what this was, why they were doing it, where they were making an incision now and what they were doing where, etc. I didn’t even ask, but she explained everything! The inpatient room is a private room, and it’s nice too@ There’s a TV, so I wasn’t bored, and should I say the wall side is a full window? I could see outside completely, so it didn’t feel stuffy at all! Overall, the hospital itself is pleasant and clean And all the medical staff I encountered were kind! The director, consultant, anesthesiologist, and the staff present during hospitalization were all very kind! I’ll know more once more swelling goes down, but I’m completely satisfied!! Sensation has also returned everywhere except the lower jaw area where the swelling hasn’t fully gone down, and I still don’t have any pain! I’m originally the type to think, if it’s good, it’s good~ so I don’t really have complaints That’s the end of my surgery review!! If you ask anything you’re curious about in the comments, I’ll answer diligently~ I also solved a lot of my questions in this community, so I want to be helpful
