Ah, the day to remove the stitches inside my mouth is getting closer.. I heard it hurts so much, so I’m scared... sob ㅠㅠ Today I did all my makeup and went out! I ate, bought this and that, and walked around. I only took my mask off when eating
1. Swelling Before surgery, if my jaw was smooth and firm? lol and wide, now the jaw size has decreased, but because of the firm, raised swelling, it feels like volume has been added?? For me, my bones were already very angular, so even if the swelling goes down, it’s smaller than before. But if someone wasn’t very angular before, I think they would look more swollen and bigger than before surgery. It doesn’t look gross, just exactly like candy swelling. Not quite like wisdom tooth extraction? If I said, “I’m getting cavity treatment,” people would probably let it pass?
2. Pain Rather than pain, it’s more discomfort?? My jaw feels a bit tight and uncomfortable. To compare it, it feels like about 5 tough tendons on both jawlines are pulling the weight of my face down toward my jaw? Now that I write it, it sounds a bit scary, but ah.. it doesn’t hurt, okay?? But since this isn’t an area that normally feels stiff, the sensation is a bit unfamiliar. I can’t explain it wellㅜㅠ My jaw just feels heavy..
There’s no pain, but my cough and phlegm are really~~~ bad I couldn’t sleep because I was coughing..ㅠ They said cold-like symptoms can occur after surgery, and for me it came as chills, cough, and phlegm. My throat keeps tickling, but I can’t spit out phlegmㅠㅠ So my cough got so bad that I bought cough and phlegm medicine at the pharmacy and I’m taking it. I also bought bellflower root syrup and have been spooning it up
3. Meals I was happy because they said I could eat regular food except spicy and hot foodsㅠㅠ But yesterday I went to a restaurant and got totally startledㅠㅠ Bean sprout gukbap had a spicy kick, so I ordered it but couldn’t eat it, gave it to my family, then went to another restaurant and ordered udon?? But while eating udon, my left jaw suddenly went “ack!!” and hurt so muchㅠㅠㅠㅜ For a moment my jaw got hot and felt numb??? So I barely chewed the udon and ended up throwing it all awayㅠㅠ When I asked the hospital, they said for a month it’s better to mainly eat soft foods, and it’s a natural phenomenon, so at times like that I shouldn’t do too much chewing exercise. I think it happened because my muscles tensed while eating with a mask on.. Today I took off my mask and finished a bowl of kalguksu at the restaurant in no time.. I’m being a bit more careful with chewing..ㅠ
Ah.. spicy food..ㅜㅠ I really like spicy food, so when food had a slightly spicy taste I used to think it was clean and nice, but now that I can’t eat it, it’s so inconvenientㅠㅠ Even foods not marked as spicy are spicy ㅠㅠ
4. Side effects When I pressed my jaw, something felt like it was floating and then going in? It definitely moved back and forth when I pressed it. There was also a tap-tap? sound,, I was so worried because of this, but the day after I went to the hospital, I touched it and this symptom had completely disappeared.. So I felt relieved..ㅎ
Also, there was an issue where a line appeared on my jaw when I moved my lips upward As the swelling went down, it really seems like my original jaw shape.. lol It’s not enough to bother me that much!
5. Washing, brushing teeth I can do everything! I can shower too,, I had my drain removed through the inside of my mouth, so there’s no wound near my ears.. Only sauna is not allowed. Washing my face is just a bit uncomfortable when touching the swollen area, not impossible, so today I just did makeup too.. I’m going to wash up and sleep now!
6. Mouth opening I didn’t realize my mouth wasn’t opening because I had no problem chewing.. but it turns out it wasn’t openingㅋㅋㅋ I gave up because thick-sliced gimbap wouldn’t fit in my mouth..ㅋㅋ I think about 4 stacked fingers fit?? Not all the way in, just up to the nail area..
Oh right, I can’t laugh widely..ㅜㅠ A little giggling is okay, but when something is truly, genuinely funny, it’s dangerous... I laugh while holding my jaw...ㅋㅋㅋ It feels stiff and hurts..ㅠ I’ll go to the hospital, get the stitches removed, and leave another review
====+++ I lost 3 kg. I think it’s because I suffered during surgery and can only eat less than my usual amount. I didn’t have much to begin with, but...ㅋㅋ My chest just disappearedㅋㅋㅋ
