Review of Having Eye Surgery 6 Times After a Failed Surgery 9 Years Ago

Nine years ago, I had eye surgery at a plastic surgery clinic called ㄱㄴㅅㅈ* in ㅂㅍ, Incheon.

I originally went to get double eyelid surgery, but they said I had ptosis, so they recommended ptosis correction (eye shape correction) with a partial incision, plus epicanthoplasty, and I had it done.

But after the surgery, my left eyelid completely stuck to the skin, so the eyelid sank in, and I ended up with 3 to 4 double eyelid folds. Because of that, I could only open my eye halfway. One eye became disfigured enough that anyone could notice it. So I had another surgery at the same hospital... but the result was the same. They kept saying it would be fine once the swelling went down, it would be fine with time... always just saying that, but as time passed, my eyelid stuck even more and my eye wouldn’t open.

At that hospital, they kept repeating that it wasn’t their fault and that it would be fine with time.. Eventually, my parents went to the hospital and protested loudly, and only then did they acknowledge the doctor’s fault.

So in the end, that doctor recommended a friend’s hospital in Apgujeong, and I had another revision surgery at that hospital. But even there, the same result kept happening, so they incised and operated on my eye four more times...

During that long, long period, I couldn’t go outside and couldn’t have any social life at all. Every time the surgery kept failing, I really wanted to die. Since I couldn’t meet even one friend and stayed only at home, I developed depression too. The depression that started then still remains, so I’m still going to the hospital.

Both that hospital in Incheon and that hospital in Apgujeong are still operating well.

I wanted to post this in the failed plastic surgery cases section, but it says I don’t have permission. I sincerely hope everyone avoids going through what I did, receives surgery safely from good directors, and gets good results.
