For over 10 years, I’ve only had nose surgery at the same hospital, 4 times. The reasons I had revision surgery were issues like the silicone showing through, a crooked nasal bridge, cartilage protruding, etc., so they kept doing it almost like aftercare, barely charging me for the surgery itself and only taking around the material or anesthesia fees. The director is really nice, the consultant is nice too, and I liked how they seemed to take responsibility until the end, so for my nose surgery I never thought about anywhere else and had everything from my first surgery until now done there... But after the 4th nose surgery, which I thought would be the last, another problem happened with my nose lol About 3 months after the last surgery, a step-off appeared, and something around the area where the nasal bridge and cartilage connect caved in, anyway my nose is a mess. I told the hospital, and they said it seemed to be because my skin was thin, and they did various kinds of management for me, but since the effect was minimal, they said as a last attempt, let’s redo the surgery with all new materials. During the 4 surgeries, the nasal bridge material was changed to a new one (silicone), and the septal cartilage and ear cartilage are still being used as they were, but if I do it again, they want to use all new materials... Honestly, I don’t think choosing surgery just because the people at the hospital are nice is the right thing anymore, so I got consultations at other hospitals, and they said it’s not that my nose is showing through and caving in because it’s thin, but because my nose is crooked lololol. They said even if they personally operated again, they weren’t sure it would improve, and asked why I had it done at that hospital, whether I knew someone there. They said the doctor seems like a good person, but at this point it seems right to have surgery by another doctor’s hands... + they said it doesn’t seem like he’s a nose specialist lolololol So now I’m looking into other hospitals, searching even through Google, searching through Naver cafes and this community too, and after looking for days and filtering and filtering, there are really only 1-2 hospitals left... Even those don’t feel 100% right to me... Still, I feel like at the hospital where it went wrong? even if it goes wrong again, they would take responsibility, and since it’s removal, maybe there wouldn’t be much of a problem... But honestly, during the 4 surgeries at this hospital, there wasn’t a single time I liked the shape of my nose. It is a relief at least that I didn’t have inflammation or contracture, but... The hospital I consulted at also said that considering my nose has been opened many times, I’ve never had functional problems, and the scarring is okay too, and even now it’s fine except for the shape, so I’m even starting to think, should I just go back to the place I went to before and do it there... Still, it’s right to search properly and go to a new hospital, right?? It wasn’t a successful surgery, so I won’t answer about the hospital where I had my nose operated on 4 times!
ㅅㄱ하쟝 Aack no, let’s go to a new hospital. You’re not going to repeat this endlessly there. Even opening it once is worrying, but four times...! If there are no other functional or shape problems, you can stop having surgery too.
아정23 Someone I saw in another cafe had revision surgery 5 times, and they were all at the same hospital.... Regardless of whether it goes well or not, they want it to go well, but if they have trust in the hospital, then anything... it seems like they at least want to try You should think carefully too, and if your trust in this place is greater than in other places, make your decision carefully...
오리궁딩이 At that point, it means the doctor’s skill is awful, but you’re going to entrust them again..? Even if it costs more, please go somewhere good. Your nose could suddenly be ruined like that.
Qwertygg If it’s a third surgery or more at the same hospital, you really have to stop... They seriously gaslight you during aftercare consultations. What’s the point if the doctor is kind and tries to take responsibility?? They need to have skill. They should have done the first surgery properly. If you keep opening the nose, removing the capsule, and doing various things, when it gets cold in winter, your nose turns purple...
에부우우앙 [@Qwertygg] ...Having revision surgery at the same hospital? It’ll fail with the same probability....
하탁지 Could you share the hospitals you looked into?
