It’s been five years since my double eyelid surgery! Review after three surgeries

Right after I finished the college entrance exam, I got double eyelid surgery at a clinic in Apgujeong because someone close to my cousin was supposedly the director there. But as time passed, the line got thinner like an inner double eyelid. I naturally had inner double eyelids to begin with too.. Since I paid for surgery, I wanted the line to show, so I had revision surgery at the same clinic about 2 years later!

But sure enough, it became an inner double eyelid again. (My cousin’s friend also had it done at that clinic, and she said it turned out subtly like an inner double eyelid too, so I think that may be that clinic’s style.)

I wanted the double eyelid line to show a bit more, so (I had surgery with a little eyelid fat removed, but I don’t know whether the line got buried because my upper eyelids are thick, or whether the clinic just doesn’t set the line high from the start, or what it was) I kept feeling dissatisfied, and 6 years after my first surgery, I had my third surgery! I should have gone around to more consultations, but revision surgery gets more expensive, you know. The clinic I visited quoted me a very low price, and since I was a student, I was tempted by that and booked a date right away and had the surgery.

Compared with my first and second surgeries, the line was definitely thicker, and the swelling lasted a very long time. Anyone could tell I had double eyelid surgery. I think I was pretty stressed because the line would not get thinner..

Now, 5 years after my third surgery, the swelling is all gone, and the line is set properly the way I wanted. I don’t think it will become an inner double eyelid, and I’m really satisfied with my eyes now. I don’t think I’ll have any more double eyelid surgery in the future. However, when I close my eyes or keep them slightly open, because of the incision scar and the slightly uneven line, if someone meeting me for the first time talks with me, they would probably notice that I had double eyelid surgery.

Aside from the incision line making it noticeable, I get told a lot that my eyes are pretty, so I’m satisfied. 1st and 2nd surgeries: no obvious sign of double eyelid surgery (even though they were incisional) but inner double eyelids vs. a double eyelid line that looks pretty when the eyes are open even if the incision scar shows I’ve been stressed by both, but I think the latter is better!

After my third double eyelid surgery 5 years ago, the line was too thick and high, so I was really stressed, but with time, this also came down!! So now I’m satisfied :)

All three times were incisional, with an inline crease! The reason I chose inline is that the space between my eyes and eyebrows is not wide!
