Day 6 After Square Jaw and Front Chin Surgery

I always just lurked, but now I am leaving a review. I had surgery on the 17th and was admitted that day. I do not know how it was for other people, but rather than being severely painful, I was dizzy, and because of the hoses my mouth would not close, so I just kept drooling, barely drank water, stayed up all night, and only after the hoses were removed the next day could I finally breathe a little. All I remember is taking a taxi home, taking medicine, and resting. On day 3, because of the swelling, I really thought my face was going to burstㅠㅠ I was wearing the compression band, but my ears and jaw hurt so much that I slightly cut the band with scissors. Also, the echoing sound in my ears was so bad, like a cave, that I felt dizzy whether I watched TV or just stayed still. On day 4, the swelling still had not gone down. Yellow bruising had spread like a map from the right side of my mouth to my neck, and the inside of my mouth was swollen so I still could not speak. I think this was when my depression peaked. Even though it hurt and was uncomfortable, I had never cried once, but I cried a lot while looking in the mirror... Among the people who wrote posts, some occasionally said they felt like depression might hit when the swelling was severe, and I really relateㅠㅠ Until this day, I only kept drinking soy milk. Maybe the phlegm and disinfectant smell had not gone away yet, so I had no appetite either. Oh, and I also started walking. With a mask on, I looked like someone whose face was just a little swollen, so I walked around the neighborhood for about an hour. They say it is good for reducing swelling too, and I felt like I would go crazy if I stayed homeㅠ I barely got to day 5 while sleeping maybe four hours a day, if that (and even then, I woke up more than twice because of pain or discomfort). From this point, I started to visibly see the swelling go down. My parents also said I finally looked a bit humanㅠ I went out briefly with a mask on to meet my partner, and they said I looked completely fine and asked what was swollen, so I felt relieved. The pumpkin juice I ordered finally arrived, so I drank pumpkin juice here and there and walked for two to three hours. In the evening, I did not want to eat porridge, so I blended vegetables in a mixer and made tomato soup, but chewing the few remaining bits still made my jaw pull a lot. I think I will just quietly eat porridge for a while. And I also did warm compresses pretty diligently, except when there was still a bit of heat sensation left. From the evening, I became able to speak well too. Today is day 6. My jaw, which had not hurt until now, hurt so much that I woke up at dawnㅠㅠㅠ Is it because I overdid it yesterday and ate food with bits in it? I hurriedly took painkillers and drank pumpkin juice, then barely slept another couple of hours. When I got up, the swelling had noticeably gone down. From the front, about like someone who had a wisdom tooth removed? But under my jaw and my neck somehow seem more swollen. Is it because the swelling is moving downward...

I barely dug through my memory and wrote this day-6 review. What I was so curious about in community reviews was swelling, and it does seem that the more you move around, the faster the swelling goes downㅠㅠ When you walk around, you also feel less depressed than when you stay at homeㅠ Let’s take walks... There are so many things I want to eat right now that I am going crazy. The clinic said I can eat regular food starting tomorrow, but my jaw hurts and my mouth does not open well, so I do not know whether I can actually eat. For those who had jaw surgery, when did you start chewing food? Tteokbokki is probably still far away, but wouldn’t I be able to eat something like jajangmyeon tomorrow? Since I have only been drinking soy milk and eating porridge, I lost 3 kg and look awful. I want to eat rice soon.
