I Had No Choice but to Get Revision Surgery Because of a Quack Doctor

June 2016 At a certain plastic surgery clinic, I had mouth-corner surgery and nostril lowering (Ear cartilage grafting to the alar wings; for the nasal bridge, the consultant recommended putting in a thin implant so it wouldn’t look obvious, so I agreed and had surgery, but it was a total disaster) 6 months later, I didn’t like it, so I had the entire nasal implant removed May 2018, I requested improvement of the blunt nasal tip A tiny, bean-sized amount of ear cartilage was grafted to the nasal tip The consultant and director who performed the first surgery left the clinic Starting a few months ago, my nose became deformed, the columella became crooked, the nasal tip dropped, the tip felt dull and heavy, cartilage showed through, and it felt stuffy and strange, so after much thought I decided on revision surgery I booked surgery twice but canceled because I was scared Because my nose was changing rapidly, I decided again that I had to get revision surgery In early December 2018, at another hospital, I had nasal-tip nostril lowering and functional rhinoplasty together (nasal valve, rhinitis, deviated septum) (support strut with autologous costal cartilage, alar wing skin graft, AlloDerm 1-2 mm on the nasal bridge) I planned to focus mainly on the nasal tip, but they said that if they placed a support strut and tied the nasal tip cartilages, the nasal tip would rise, so 1-2 mm needed to be added to the nasal bridge, and I agreed After surgery, during a consultation with the director after disinfection, they said donated costal cartilage that I had never agreed to was found inside my nose, and when they did the nostril lowering, the ear cartilage grafted into the alar wings came out in a state where it had not been fully removed I was so dumbfounded and upset that I contacted the previous hospital and explained the situation I searched the internet and found where the doctor who had left was working I made an appointment at that hospital and said I was someone who had surgery when the doctor belonged to another hospital A few minutes later, they said that if I was coming for follow-up because of surgery performed when the doctor belonged to another hospital, they couldn’t connect me to the director They said that now the doctor didn’t belong to that hospital but to this hospital, so no matter what I said it was useless, and since the surgery was performed when the doctor belonged to that hospital, I should go talk to that hospital I spoke with another consultant at the previous hospital and vented The next day, I talked for an hour with the legal team director, and they said that even if it went to litigation, the chance of winning was low, and hiring a lawyer would be expensive and take a long time, so they would tell me how I could receive some degree of refund and help me proceed I simply wanted to know whether it was true, and if they admitted it, I wanted an apology, but my mind changed I’m preparing documents to resolve it legally against that doctor or file a claim for damages The conclusion is that because of that doctor, the donated costal cartilage that was not fully removed caused problems in my nose, and I had no choice but to get revision surgery. As of now, the nostril-lowering result I had wanted so badly is good, but that previous doctor never mentioned donated costal cartilage even once from before surgery until leaving the clinic Because of that quack doctor, even before getting revision surgery, the money and time I spent trying to restore my nose as much as possible to how it used to be, and this revision surgery fee alone, add up to the price of a car And after mouth-corner surgery, they never mentioned scar treatment for a year, so I missed the treatment window and it can’t be treated They’re not simply stitch marks; depressed scars formed on both mouth corners I received laser and injection treatment at another hospital, but there was no improvement at all, the hyperpigmentation got worse, and I don’t see even the slightest sign that it will get better They said it’s highly likely to be marionette lines, but that’s bullshit. Considering the location, they are not marionette lines Fuck, seriously, I’m really pissed Just the money I spent when that doctor belonged to the previous hospital went over ten million won. There was almost nothing I liked among all the surgeries and procedures that doctor performed It’s such a waste and I want to get it all back, but I’m not even asking for that much It also pisses me off that only the consultant and director left as if running away, and other people are handling the aftermath I wonder how someone like that became a board-certified plastic surgeon. The more I think about it, seriously, ah..............
