It wasn’t that I disliked my monolid eyes, but my ptosis was somewhat severe, so I was worried about forehead wrinkles. While looking into ptosis correction, I thought it would be good to add a cosmetic procedure as well, so I started researching clinics online. After narrowing it down to two places, I went for consultations, and I decided to have surgery at Gonggan, where I had scheduled the later consultation slot. I liked that the director didn’t aggressively lead from the start, but first asked about the aesthetic look I wanted and then explained the surgical process. It had been hard for me to properly understand the plastic surgery process itself, but after hearing the explanation, it made perfect logical sense, and I became confident about what direction I wanted to improve my eyes in. I had Mongolian folds at the inner corners, so I had epicanthoplasty done together, and while having ptosis correction, I chose an incisional method + inner double eyelid. I did want to keep my monolid eyes as they were, so originally I was going to have surgery with the lowest possible inner double eyelid line, but on the day of surgery, when the final line was being marked, I decided to set it just slightly higher than originally planned. Ah, one piece of advice: when the line was first being marked, my forehead was fully exposed, so it was hard to get a sense of how my face would change. When I told the director about my concern, he let me lower my bangs with the line marked, so I think I was able to see it more specifically. If you end up having surgery at Gonggan, make sure to ask about this. On the day of surgery, after the final line was confirmed, I waited briefly, and the surgery was over quickly within about 1 hour. I didn’t have any particular abnormal symptoms, so I rested for a short while and went straight home. I had been told about several things that could happen briefly after surgery, and when I was going home, my vision felt slightly blurry, which was difficult. Just in case, it seems good to bring a bottle of artificial tears. The blurry vision was completely gone from day 2, and I don’t think I had any pain except right after the anesthesia wore off on the first day of surgery. There were some inconveniences like removing eye discharge, but when I asked the consultation manager, she gave detailed solutions, which helped a lot. Maybe because I walked a lot, I didn’t really have much swelling either. After 1 week post-op, I was satisfied as soon as the stitches were removed, and although there was a little bruising left, I managed it a lot with warm compresses + bruise cream. Now, at week 2, I can live normally, and people meeting me for the first time don’t even notice that I had surgery. Right now, the line is clearly visible, so it’s not exactly the look I wanted, but I was told that it would gradually come down from here, and in fact the line came down more in week 2 than in week 1, so I’m living comfortably and satisfied without much anxiety. If you have any questions, leave them. I’ll answer in as much detail as possible when I have time.
