Petit Procedure Reviews@petit-review

4-year review of radiofrequency masseter reduction..

While looking into various surgeries, I found reviews written after some time had passed after surgery somewhat helpful, so I’m leaving this in case it helps anyone

It was sleep anesthesia, so when I woke up, everything was over, and after about 2 weeks, if someone said, “Your face looks a bit swollen, did you gain weight?” I could say, “Ah, yes yes ㅜㅜ” That was about the level of swelling..

For the first 1-2 months, my mouth opened about 20-30%, for 6 months, my mouth opened about 50-60%, even up to 1-2 years, about 70%, and now it opens fully.

The effect is good from after 6 months, and the area that hollows out the most is right below the cheekbone. If you consider the jaw muscle as being distributed from under the cheekbone to next to the lip line, the area under the cheekbone hollows out the most, and the lower jaw muscle, which is important for the jawline, decreases only about half as much as that, but still, the visible effect is much more noticeable than Botox.

Now that 4 years have passed

First, functionally, there isn’t much of a problem so far.. I tend to eat squid or, if I eat slowly, I can eat for 30 minutes, and on days when I feel like I chewed for a long time, when I wake up after sleeping, my jaw muscles feel sore exactly like when you haven’t exercised and then get muscle soreness. But it doesn’t hurt severely, it’s just like, oh, it feels sore..

The aesthetic issue is

It gradually comes back, but the part you chew well with comes back faster first, and the chewing muscle along the lower jawline becomes thick again. The jawline has now almost returned to how it was before surgery, and if it just came back the same, I’d just think, okay, that’s how it is... But the problem is the area below the cheekbone, so the cheek area. That part doesn’t come back....

There’s no reason to chew with that area or use it, so I don’t think it comes back;;

Among people considering masseter reduction surgery, if you think you have a developed square jaw, absolutely do not do this. It gives the effect of diagonal contour shading on the cheek fat below the cheekbone, so it makes the square jaw stand out more.

At the very least, it would have to be that you basically don’t have much facial bone structure but only have a lot of fat..

And people with cheekbones should absolutely not do it either. Your cheekbones will look more prominent. It’s the effect of shading under the cheekbones like Westerners do to make their cheekbones look protruded.

Westerners have three-dimensional faces, so even if the cheekbones or square jaw stand out, it suits them and looks slimㅜㅜ

Also, my chewing strength isn’t weak enough to be uncomfortable, but it’s definitely weaker than before. So the muscles around my temples got bigger as if compensatingㅋ I’m rich in temple muscles..

Because the area under the cheekbones hollowed out, I don’t know if it’s actually the case, but it has the effect of making the lower jaw fat look saggy....ㅎ..

If you’re doing it instead of square jaw surgery, absolutely do not do it.

If you have no cheekbones and no square jawbone, but you have so much fat that your face is too round, and you feel like your wish would be granted if any cheek fat anywhere went down even a little, then it may have some effect of making you look a bit gaunt.

There is no effect on the overall facial line.
