Hello:) I just got my double eyelid surgery done today. The cost was... I think it came to around 3 million won. Expensive, right Incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction + upper canthoplasty + lower canthoplasty I had those done~.~ (so I guess that’s why it was expensive...)
I had it done in the Seoul area, and I’m not going to reveal which hospital it was! Please don’t ask for information!!!!!! I won’t answer (Actually it didn’t turn out super dramatically -_-a so I don’t think anyone would ask anyway) The moment I answer, it feels like I’d become a broker somehow... So just think, oh, so that’s what it looks like after double eyelid surgery~ Oh, that’s how she had it done~ and please just look at it like that:)
Why am I posting a review in the first place! Well, I’m updating my blog too~ and I thought there might be a lot of brokers on this community, so I’m just posting it... so regular people’s reviews can be a reference too..
First, my eyes are little clam eyes. You know clam eyes, right? hing A long time ago, do you know the beauty YouTuber Lena? My eyes were exactly like hers... it was sad
Little clam eyes + hollow eyes + eyes and eyebrows being close together + small eye sockets + small pupils My eyes are just a total mess̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ There was absolutely no way to make them dramatic with eye surgery;;; A lot of places said the back and lower canthoplasty wouldn’t work, and if the line was set too high, it would become sausage-like, and because my eyes and eyebrows are close and my brow bone sticks out (I have a protruding forehead), the chance of getting sausage-like eyes was high, and because they’re sunken, even back canthoplasty wouldn’t have much effect... Well, that’s what they said;;; I wanted IU’s eyes, but that failed... My goal was to become as soft-looking as possible with my own eyes!
A lot of clinics also said the back canthoplasty wouldn’t be effective, but here they said I should do it so̊̈̄̈ of course they couldn’t open it much... So I went ahead and had it done.
Re-canthal widening and lower canthoplasty are really a tough combo I’ll come back and tell you whether they stick or not There were so few reviews and so many of them felt like brokers, so it was really hard for me too.. Please wait a little until the swelling goes down.
Ah, and for 8 years I’d been opening my eyes wide with my forehead, so I actually already had an in-out double eyelid. But... the kids told me to stop looking so stern.. I wanted to stop looking stern, make double eyelids, and become puppy-like, so that’s why I did it 헷
1. Choosing the clinic
First, you have to choose a clinic, right?
I first went around to every clinic in the area where I live.. There wasn’t really a place where I thought, ah, this is it!... hmm.... So I decided to go to Seoul! I did a lot of online research~ Google / Naver / cafes / this community I searched everywhere and everywhere, and my list from online research alone was almost 30 places̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ You know how sometimes a place pops up once if you search around cafes... I put all of those in too... even weird places that only show up once or twice and seem like they really don’t use brokers at all and don’t even show up in searches...
Like some plastic surgery clinic in ㅇㅈ(ㅗㅡ)... first time hearing it, right? Even when I searched, nothing came up, and the website reviews ended with 2018, so I wondered what that was, but somehow it felt like a real hidden diamond(?) I saw them writing on their blog.. oh.. I was like, wow I did online research and even set up a consultation there but I couldn’t go to the consultation I regret that a bit Because the consultation at that awful place ㄷㅇㅇ ended so late... it went over... I should’ve just gone in the middle Even when I did a photo consultation through the blog, they only told me what was actually necessary... They seemed like the kind of person who would explain really well whether I truly needed ptosis correction̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ If you’re going there later, try it once... I couldn’t go, but if you do, please come back with a review..
Anyway, back to the main point, I actually reserved about 24 places... I physically visited more than half of them...... it was so hard
I’m from the provinces... but when I added up the round-trip costs, it got insanely expensive -_- and it took a huge amount of time too... So I just rented a room in Seoul for a month̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ No matter how I thought about it, that seemed cheaper... if I got inflammation, what would I do... would I come all the way back to Seoul by train again? I thought At first I was also thinking about facial contouring, as well as my eyes, so I did consultations for both, and the places I remember are ㄷㅇㅇ ㅂ() ㅌㅇㅅ ㅇㅇㄷ ㅇㅇㅇ(ㅏㅣㅞ) ㄱㅎㅅ ㅇㅇㅌ ㅇㅇㅋㅇ etc.! I went to about 12 places but I can’t remember...
Actually I was going to go more on Thursday and Friday, but after I posted my facial contouring visit review̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ kind people from this community left comments saying CT is dangerous̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ that I should stop going around the city̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈, and because of their worry and exhaustion / burnout / frustration, I got way too lazy to go around on Thursday and Fridayfeh
That was the peak of my inner conflict No, it’s for my face, so I have to go to more places vs. No, this is enough... In the end I compromised with the latter....
What I felt while doing all those consultations was: at least one place absolutely has to hit you with that feeling. Even after visiting quite a few places, the clinics I’d visited felt like “Ah~ it’s good? It’s good... okay, that’s how it is! Nice! Not bad ~” That kind of feeling!
But the clinic I chose gave me a feeling of clinic atmosphere + the before-and-after photos on the table + the consultation with the doctor + the manager’s vibe all of it saying to me, this is your destiny~~~~!!!!? A strong desire came over me. Ah, this is where I’ll bury my bones The feeling that I wanted to book right then and there... But thanks to advice from seasoned surgery veterans, I didn’t make a same-day reservation and went home with my heart pounding... They didn’t even offer any same-day reservation discount or anything like that;;; If they had offered a discount, I probably would’ve jumped on it.
And then the next day I got so, so tired of visiting clinics that I stopped after 12 places! ̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ And then booked there immediately̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ And then had surgery immediately the next day̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ It was basically LTE speed.... I wanted to do it fast
If you go around, there will be a clinic like that. That’s the one you should go with!
The place that clicks with your feeling = the place to lay your bones Brokers and all that don’t matter, if you do it like this:)
2. The day before surgery
This was actually my first time ever doing anything like surgery̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep at all, but it was the best sleep I’ve had since coming to Seoul;;;;; (I’d had insomnia for the past few days) I really seem like an idiot... They said fast for 3 hours, but I’m a huge coward so starting the day before, I fasted for about 12 hours.....hing
Also, I watched a ton of double eyelid surgery videos on YouTube... Like, if you get local anesthesia, they inject 8 shots, and all I could think was that it hurts sooooo much and is insane, so I watched stuff like that̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ and suddenly got worried..
I cried when I got tattoo eyeliner too because it hurt, and it blurred, so what if my double eyelids went wrong like that too... that was a big worry.
3. The day of surgery
First of all, I’m someone who has never been on an operating table in my life I’ve never even had a bone broken̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ I’ve never had any surgery at all...!
Even on the day I went, I wasn’t nervous... but when I got there and changed into the patient clothes, my hands started sweating like I’d turned on a faucet...;;;; my palms were sweaty, I was tense, and my face froze... But thanks to the reassurance of the doctor and the manager... The place I went to had the doctor personally explain the surgery consent form(?) and the side effects and the part about death being possible and everything, the form you sign, you know??? Usually the manager does that, but at the place I went to the doctor did it... I was surprised. And my trust doubled I really think I chose well.... everyone Avoid big chains... avoid places with too many people... avoid places where one doctor can’t see each patient carefully one by one....!!!!!!!!!! And go in the off-season!!!!!
Anyway, when I look at eye surgery reviews I saw, they always say stuff like you can feel everything, you can see everything, and so on, but in my actual case it was sedation anesthesia > local anesthesia, right? Like I said above, local anesthesia hurts too much, so I think they put you to sleep with sedation anesthesia and then do the local anesthesiă̎̐̈̊̈̄̈
Oh, but sedation anesthesia feels like taking drugs It’s super fun Kind of like a roller coaster, and a bit like an old FX music video too, and do you know those refreshing clean TV videos from back in the day? It felt like that too, it was so fun, and then you get sleepy.. so I was lying there feeling just nice right before falling asleep...
And I didn’t feel much of the procedure It sounded a bit like ASMR... I could hear a scratch-scratch sound... but it didn’t feel like, “they’re cutting my eyes,” more like I was getting my eyebrows groomed? It seriously didn’t hurt at all̆̎̐̈̊̈̄̈ Oh, I did feel a pulling sensation when they did the ptosis correction It wasn’t that painful... to compare it, it was like being pinched lightly on the skin? I couldn’t tell whether it was a dream or reality, so I honestly wasn’t thinking much, and as I gradually woke up, when they told me to open my eyes, I just opened them, and I could only see the ceiling.. ah, not the ceiling, the operating room light(?)
You really don’t need to worry at all... But if you do local anesthesia without sedation anesthesia at all, that place will probably hurt a bit. hehe
Ah right, I was fully awake and time didn’t pass But it was nice to know the doctor was actually there and it wasn’t some ghost surgery
The photo is right after surgery I’m still not very swollen.. but starting tomorrow it’ll probably swell like crazy, right? Everyone, please share your swelling care tips Honestly I don’t think pumpkin juice does much, so I’m planning to just drink lots of water and go for walks, but if anyone has a mega useful tip... share it please heehee
And the reason I wrote this post is because I wanted to share information, and I also have something to ask...
It’s still the first day so I don’t know if it turned out well, but if any experts are here, is this an in-line or an in-out line? Will it become a super thin line that looks like it’s there but not there?... Please tell me... What do my eyes look like, fact check me so I can ask the doctor about it!
Then thanks for reading~~~ And one last tip: before plastic surgery, make sure you fully understand your own asymmetry and then get surgery!!!! Otherwise, before surgery it can be hard to actually notice where your face is asymmetric, but if you don’t look at it carefully beforehand, you end up looking in the mirror a lot after surgery and thinking the asymmetry is from the surgery... It’s hard to completely fix congenital asymmetry
If the surgery turns out well, I’ll bring a second review then.. I’m on day one too so I have absolutely no idea if it came out well And when does the swelling go down? It’s an incision.....
