It has been eight days as of today since I had revision surgery for my 45-degree cheekbones after getting quick cheekbone reduction the year before last.
It was done under general anesthesia through a small incision near the sideburn area next to the ear. The consultant said that if I had general anesthesia, my throat would hurt for about three days like I had a cold, and honestly, after the surgery my throat hurt so much,, I got on the operating table, and the anesthesiologist came in and told me not to be too nervous and to sleep well. After that I don't remember anything, and when I woke up I was in the recovery room.
In the recovery room, I was supposed to get painkillers and then get my prescription, but I forgot and just left, so on the first day I kept waking up because it hurt. They said painkillers are included in the medication. Ah, on the first day, blood pooled in my mouth and kept coming out? There was something like a tube? a blood drain? in my mouth. It bothered me, so on the first day after going home I only drank water and pumpkin juice.
On the second day, I went to the hospital to have the thing in my mouth removed. That didn't hurt. After removing the tube? or whatever it was, I could eat something like pumpkin porridge. On the third day, I went to have the stitches and bandage removed, and after they took them off, the consultant said I had much less bruising and swelling than other people. So I happily got the swelling laser treatment and an injection, came home, and ate rice. I could eat most things to some extent.
The day after removing the bandage, the swelling felt hard, and when I smiled one side wouldn't lift and it hurt. My temples also looked like they were protruding so much, so I called the hospital right away, and they said that after cheekbone surgery, the temples normally all swell. They said it goes down later. But I don't know if this is swelling; even just putting my phone near my temple to answer a call makes that area hurt and throb so much. I also think maybe it's because it's only been a week, but my face looks bigger than before surgery. This is normal, right..? I wonder if the temple area will go down. I just want even three weeks to pass quickly.
For those who smoke or drink, how many days after cheekbone surgery did you start? After quick cheekbone reduction, I had my stitches removed five days later and drank alcohol and smoked right away, but I didn't get inflammation. This time it's full cheekbone surgery, so I'm a bit scared and still haven't done either. But isn't an e-cigarette okay?ㅜㅜㅜ
