I had surgery around November 2016. Back then, because I lacked information, I foolishly decided that for my eyes only an incision was possible, and I had the consultation with the surgeon with that mindset. The surgeon also asked me, "You're going to do an incision, right?" and I answered yes without even thinking to ask whether any other method was possible, already assuming that only an incision was an option for my eyes. The anesthesia was non-sedated local anesthesia, and they played hymns the whole time, so because of the fear and pain during the surgery, I honestly thought I was going to heaven. The line was thicker than I expected, and maybe it was overcorrection, but my eyes became very round. I already had some facial asymmetry, but my eyes were so uneven that I went back a year later. The surgeon saw it and said they'd do aftercare, so I got free aftercare, but yes, they are still uneven and actually look even stranger than before. It's been 6 years since the surgery, and the double-eyelid surgery is very obvious. It's the kind of eyes where anyone can tell I got my eyelids cut. I suppose part of it is my fault for not researching enough in the past and just getting surgery without thinking, but still. I'm still looking for a clinic for revision surgery while saving money. If you have large eyes and protruding eyes and think you're the kind of person who would clearly do well with double-eyelid surgery, I recommend it, but if not, I recommend thinking about it more carefully.
