I originally had monolids, but my eyes were on the larger side, and I wanted a slightly more feminine eye shape, so I had double-eyelid surgery with the buried-suture method 2 years ago. The swelling that was supposed to go down in a month lasted a full year, so I went through so much emotional stress..ㅜ Later I found out that my eyeballs are somewhat recessed, so the swelling went down late, they said.. Now that all the swelling is gone, I’m very satisfied, but for that 1 year, I looked in the mirror and cried a lot. For monolid people who are relatively satisfied with their current eyes, I think it would be good to reconsider double-eyelid surgery.
