I’d always struggled with acne since my teens,, I tried medicines said to be good for acne, foods (from blending cactus fruit to drink to cabbage juice..), and all kinds of dermatology treatments, but nothing worked They call it the flower of youth, but what flower.. all that was left were scars and wounds.
Acne is something you shouldn’t touch, but when I was young and didn’t know anything, whenever acne came up I squeezed it all with my hands, not even cotton swabs What I got as a result was enlarged pores and pitted scars here and there... I felt upset every time I looked in the mirror, and my mom was upset too..
Fortunately, as I got older, the number of pimples itself decreased Whether it’s hormones or what.. now I almost never get inflammatory acne, maybe just closed comedones? I manage it with cosmetics and occasional scaling. (Still, I guess there’s nothing I can do about those huge pimples that appear before and after my period..)
Once the acne decreased to some extent, what I saw right away were the scars and pores My mom also kept nagging me to do something about those pores, whether laser on my face or whatever I was also stressed because of pores that wouldn’t be covered even with makeup
An acquaintance of my mom sells cosmetics, and I received Fraxel treatment at a clinic she said she often goes to. I consulted with the doctor, and after looking at my face, they immediately recommended Fraxel, so I did it.. Seriously... I usually endured pretty well even when squeezing acne, but it hurt so, so much It was a new kind of pain I’d never experienced... At first I thought, is this bearable? But when they did my chin and areas with many scars, it was especially extremely painful.
After it ended, they did put on a soothing pack, but it was burning hot.. I came home wearing a mask and looked, and my face looked like something from Attack on Titan I didn’t know it would get this red... Since I went through an acquaintance’s referral, I think they did pay extra attention haha Honestly, it might have been better if they hadn’t paid attention haha Right after the procedure, I looked in the mirror and thought.. ah, did I do this for nothing? It was that swollen and the redness was severe..
After a day or two, then one week and two weeks, as it peeled, I gradually felt my skin getting smoother I think it took about 2 weeks for the dead skin to fully come off After Fraxel, I did regeneration care + hydration care together, and after about a month, I did feel a difference starting when I put on makeup. It wasn’t super smooth skin like a peeled egg (I think it’s impossible for my skin to become that kind of skin), but makeup applied well and it felt brighter haha. It wasn’t an enormous level of total satisfaction, but I did feel it was worth the money. I’m not sure if I’d do it again.. (because it hurt so much..)
I’m going to look for more treatments that are good for scars. haha I hope this helps at least a little for those planning to do Fraxel..
