I had severe deviated septum My original nose height wasn’t on the low side, and I had a bit of a hump Also, I had a visible columella, but my nasal tip was slightly short, so cosmetically that was what I wanted to correct
Then I got really into a straight-to-slightly-curved nose shape like Oh Yeon-seo or Han Bo-reum, so I went for consultations at places famous for that design, and also at plastic surgery clinics with ENT specialists. As a result.. They commonly said my deviated septum was severe, but my nasal bridge was on the high side, so we should go without an implant, and they talked about septal cartilage + ear cartilage. Among them, one place also suggested costal cartilage, but that felt a bit too much.. lol I guess with costal cartilage, the design is more definite lol But since it was my first surgery, I didn’t want to go that far with general anesthesia The dates when I could have surgery were fixed.. and I had to decide on a hospital quickly, but there was no place that really grabbed me Then, at the very end, I had one last consultation at the hospital where an acquaintance was planning to have surgery The director was honestly so sweet and nice lol Out of all the hospitals I’d been to, he gave me the longest consultation.. He isn’t an ENT specialist, but maybe because he has so much experience with nose surgery, he looked at my CT and explained things in a lot of detail, and I just felt drawn to him..ㄷㄷ He accurately assessed the size of my septal cartilage too.. Honestly, though, I had another place in mind more than this one.. but I chose this place because of the director, seriously.. This is absolutely not advertising or broker-related// really.. Anyway, at other hospitals they just said they could make it straight-to-slightly-curved and that I had the kind of face where the line would come out well, but here they said if they made my nose like Oh Yeon-seo’s, it probably wouldn’t suit my face.. It was my first time hearing that kind of thing there.. and he firmly told me to prioritize function first.
On surgery day! Once I was actually about to have surgery, I got a little greedy, so during the final design with the director before surgery, I did ask him to make the length a bit longer. I showed him the photos I wanted.. Then he said he would match it as much as possible. Here, they said they would try with septal cartilage first, and if it was insufficient, they would take and use ear cartilage
After surgery ended and I came to and looked in the mirror, honestly my face.. looked so unfortunate.. I looked pitiful.. Since my ear didn’t hurt at all, I think they only used septal cartilage.. Anyway, my nose.. was not lengthened at all as much as I expected.. It hurt like crazy.. but even in the middle of that, I was worried about the shape..
My nasal bridge was really swollen because the hump was shaved down, but I can barely tell whether the nasal tip got much higher.. or whether it got longer... According to the director, the amount of septal cartilage was sufficient, so he corrected the asymmetry and brought the nasal tip out as much as possible, but he thought intentionally using ear cartilage too to lower it further would look stranger, so that’s why he did it that way.. But I keep feeling unsatisfied somehow.. The director is really good, but maybe I’m being overly greedy for no reason, right?
Can the nose become a bit longer as swelling goes down? To me, even though the swelling is clearly severe, the nasal tip doesn’t look high.. and I can’t tell if it projects longer than before.. I’m so bothered by it Is there anyone like me??
