Hello. I’m leaving a review of my two eye surgeries... My eyes were originally a bit small and asymmetrical. So I was very stressed, and first of all, my eyes really weren’t pretty. So I had my first surgery at ㅇㅅㅍㅅㅌ in Apgujeong.
I didn’t shop around... I went straight to ㅇㅅㅍㅅㅌ for consultation/surgery on the same day. I looked up several places online, but I think I did it that way because I was pressed for time.
Incisional ptosis correction / eyelid fat removal / epicanthoplasty. The result wasn’t bad. As you can see in the photos.. If you compare before surgery in 2017 and right after surgery, the eye size did change.
And my eye shape became fairly pretty too, so I heard a lot that the surgery had gone well. But... the problem was that the asymmetry was still there. More than anything... if you look right after surgery.. the double eyelid itself... had different thicknesses. So I was extremely stressed from immediately after surgery. I was stressed about the uneven eyes for a year ㅡㅡ
So... I really thought I would never do eye surgery again... and honestly, I looked into a lot of places! There was something like an injection to remove eyelid fat? I was going to try that.
But honestly, I didn’t think I could expect a dramatic effect from something like that.. So I made a big decision and decided on surgery.
So first I looked into ㅅㅍㄹㅅ and went there. Honestly, I went there thinking I would only do one-day ptosis correction on my right eye. I honestly liked my left eye as it was, and the problem was that my right eye was slightly smaller.
But there, they told me to redo double eyelid surgery with an incision.. and do an in-place canthoplasty? the thing that removes Mongolian folds? 3 million won.. for one eye... I mean, even if it’s expensive because it’s revision surgery... still.. So I said I’d do it and put down a 300,000 won deposit ㅡㅡ and lost it. Because... as time passed, I just didn’t trust them ㅡㅡ;; Doing only one side felt ambiguous.. what even is in-place canthoplasty.. And the fact that it would be done by incision already... since I had already had incisional surgery once ㅡㅡ it scared me.
If I only did one eye.. after the swelling fully went down and all that, it was obvious it would look weird..
I thought this wouldn’t work, so I sent a KakaoTalk message saying that instead of double eyelid surgery... I wanted one-day correction.. They replied in a really somewhat unfriendly way..; enough to make me feel really bad ㅡㅡ; saying, “Double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction are different issues,” and I really thought this place wasn’t it.
So I didn’t do it ㅡㅡ I lost 300,000 won.
And then. I started urgently searching online... And on Saturday, March 2, I asked 5 places.
I consulted at ㅁㅌㅂ, which I was most interested in, and ㅇㅂㅇP across from it. First I went to ㅇㅂㅇㅍ, and there too... they told me to have an incision on only one eye.
So.. I said okay for now and left, but nothing really strongly drew me in. Still, I thought, I could do it here. That level? And the price was 1.9 million for one side / 2.5 million if doing both.
So I ate and went to ㅁㅌㅂ. This was the clinic I had come to think I wanted to do it at while looking things up, and I was glad I could get a consultation.
I talked with the consultant, and she explained why my eyes were uneven and so on, and said here they would probably do it non-incisionally together with an upper canthoplasty, and told me to meet the director.
So I met Director Park, and he listened well, explained what the cause was, and we talked about things like what kind of double eyelid line I wanted.
This was the place where I felt the most trust right away. So I did it here. Really...
“Shop around..” Rather than visiting one place and deciding like I did.. I really think you need to shop around and visit at least three places before you can decide. It’s a matter that can change your life.. so please make sure to shop around.
Anyway.. At ㅁㅌㅂ Plastic Surgery, I really completely got the feeling of “Ah, this is the place!” so I booked there. ㅅㅍㄹㅅ said the deposit couldn’t be refunded, so I treated it as losing 300,000 won. Even if it felt bad, what can you do. What matters is that I’m satisfied.
So I had the surgery... First, I never want to have eye surgery again. It’s hard ㅡㅡ;
Honestly, it wasn’t even that painful. I just dislike the surgery itself. After anesthesia, my consciousness was hazy but I could hear sounds... I got the feeling, “I might die like this.” Honestly.. since I had also had another surgery under sedation anesthesia 2 weeks ago.. maybe it was even harder.
Anyway.. when they came and did the eye surgery under local anesthesia.. I think that part was at least okay. I kept consciously giving myself self-hypnosis, saying, “I am comfortable.. comfortable.. I am becoming comfortable..” Those getting surgery, do this... You need to be comfortable.. so the surgery will probably go well too..
When I came out right after surgery? At that time, honestly... it was scary. Thoughts like, “Did my eyes turn out well? Was the asymmetry corrected?” And first of all, my eyes wouldn’t close well ㅡㅡ;; I intentionally did cold compresses for almost an hour.
And when I took a photo of my eyes and looked... the lines were much prettier than I expected. So I was completely satisfied.
Of course, the inner/front part of my left eye’s double eyelid is slightly a bit thicker. But I think that will get better as the swelling keeps going down and the double eyelid becomes thinner.
First of all, it feels like the eye size was definitely matched pretty well. And at the pharmacy, I bought something they called a “special medicine for reducing swelling” separately for 66,000 won for 3 days’ worth.. The swelling definitely does go down quickly..
Anyway.. for now, I’m more than 80% satisfied with my eyes. I’ll watch the progress, but except for the left eye’s double eyelid being slightly thick, the right eye, which had really bothered me because it was droopy and small, now has a bigger line and a bigger eye... The right eye feels almost perfect.
I just hope the left eyelid settles well and becomes pretty.
