I went for a consultation at Hanmi, which is famous for under-eye fat repositioning, or rather, under-eye fat transposition. I happened to get an empty slot on short notice, so I was able to meet them relatively quickly without a long wait. The consultation fee is 10,000 won. At the staff counter, there was the consultation manager, a nurse, and one more person who had had a lot of cosmetic work done, and the staff member’s manner of speaking and reception felt razor-sharp and not very good. The interior has a somewhat old-fashioned wood-style design, but overall it was clean and used warm lighting, so it didn’t feel uncomfortable or off-putting at all, and it was comfortable. When I saw the director, I got the impression that they care about customer service. The employees seemed young, and there didn’t seem to be anyone particularly mature or senior, and because the consultation manager was young and read off the needed points mechanically, the appeal somehow went down. From the perspective of long-term customer service, I felt they needed training, or rather, that a full staff refresh would be necessary. If the hospital wants to do better and spread a good image, human rapport matters more than just medical skill. I didn’t feel that they were maximizing the doctor’s strengths. (At the end of the day, we live with people, clash with people, and solve people’s difficulties.)
The consultation with the doctor gave the impression that they like naturalness and the naturally shaped eyes unique to humans. (What I felt during the conversation was that they seemed fed up from past friction with people who had done things somewhat artificially, and they did not seem to want anything burdensome.)
By showing various photos, I could gauge the doctor’s aesthetic philosophy, and when it came to surgery, the result felt definitely trustworthy.
Among the well-known clinics for under-eye surgery, there seem to be Obje, Hanmi, First, Oskin, and Idea. Among them, this one held a somewhat ambiguous position. I work in analysis, so I’d like to write more detail, but since this is more in the realm of consulting, I’ll stop here.
From age 40 and up, the need will probably become much more active, and I think so too. If you’re interested in youthful-looking lower eyelids, it seems like this is one to put on the list and at least consult.
