At some point, whenever my mom looked in the mirror, she would sigh and say that the bulging fat and wrinkles under her eyes made her look tired. It bothered me too, so I did a lot of research and took her to Saegim Plastic Surgery for lower blepharoplasty. It’s been about two months since her surgery, so I’ll honestly share all the pros and cons I’ve noticed. Everyone here who is thinking of taking their parents should keep this in mind. To give you the conclusion first, the effect itself is definitely real. Once the unevenly protruding fat was completely removed and the wrinkles under her eyes were neatly smoothed, she honestly looked two to five years younger. From the consultation, the director said that pulling too aggressively could turn the eyelids inside out, so it should be done well without going that far. Perhaps because of that, there was no awkward or artificial feeling of the eyes looking pulled open; her overall impression became bright and gentle, and my mom was very satisfied every time she looked in the mirror. That said, I’ll honestly write about the disappointing points too, lol. The most surprising thing was that the bruising and swelling lasted quite a long time. I thought that with today’s advanced techniques she would recover quickly like after a treatment, but surgery is still surgery. Until one to two weeks after surgery, yellowish and bluish bruises spread from under her eyes down toward her cheeks, so she absolutely couldn’t go outside without sunglasses. If you take your parents expecting everything to disappear in a week and normal life to resume, you might be a little surprised. She also said that for about a month after surgery, the skin under her eyes felt tight, making her eyes feel somewhat dry and pulled. At first my mom was a little anxious, wondering whether something had gone wrong, so I had a hard time keeping artificial tears ready and reassuring her from beside her.. lol. Fortunately, now that she has reached two months, the tightness around her eyes has completely disappeared, and the scars are neatly hidden inside the eyelids and along the lash line, so they are barely visible. I realized that caring for parents’ emotional state during recovery is more important than expected. In conclusion, the effect is definitely excellent, making it a highly satisfying gift for a parent, but it seems best to take them only after being prepared to stay by their side, help them, and care for them while they are anxious during the bruising and swelling downtime...
